John Moore is Finally Official for ‘Die Hard 5’ (http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/news/john-moore-is-finally-official-for-%E2%80%98die-hard-5%E2%80%99.php)
Well, it looks like things are finally shaping up and Die Hard 5 is back on track. Although I'm excited to see a new installment in the franchise, I'm not entirely sold on the idea of the story taking place in Russia. I was hopefully that it would take place at an amusement park where John McClane would punch out a park Mascot. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Live Free or Die Hard. Bring on part 5!

Are people bad mouthing it? I thought it was a great action movie. It's Die Hard: With A Vengeance I have issues with.

A lot of Die Hard fans (HA) bad mouth it. They say Bruce Willis is sleepwalking and the movie is way over the top.
Plus, what the hell is wrong with DHWAV? I think it's pretty good. Better than Die Harder.

What's wrong with it? Look, I want all my Die Hard movies to carbon copies of the 1st film. I don't need them expanding and trying to get creative and making it different. Die Hard 5 better be set in an Amusement Park or at least in another Airport, damn it!

I like all the Die Hard's in some form or another. Not keen on repeating formula though. Bring in something new. What made John McClane special in the series is he got hurt and felt pain and most of us could relate. Let's just see if this rumor, er, project continues.

Jai Courtney will play John McClane's son
Don’t worry though, Bruce Willis hasn’t been condemned to the scrapheap just yet – he’ll be back on board as maverick cop John McClane, while Courtney will play his son, Jack.
Courtney reportedly beat out The Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth to play a character described by the official press release as, “an apple that has not fallen far from the tree.”
Indeed, the release goes on to claim that, “Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father.” You can see the pair together above, in an official image from the two actors’ screen-test together.
The film will see John and Jack relocated to Russia, with the McClane men looking to thwart some kind of global terrorist plot operating out of Moscow. Slightly glibly, the release describes out hero as a “true NYC fish out of water”. Hmmm.
Die Hard 5 will be directed by Max Payne’s John Moore, and will open under the somewhat cringeworthy title A Good Day To Die Hard on 14 February 2013. A lovely romantic number for Valentine’s Day then…

Looking forward to seeing Die Hard 5, not A Good Day To Die Hard. Come on, that's a horrible name. Almost as bad a Die Hard and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Yippie-kai-yay's. Actually, that last one is pretty f ucking awesome!!! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_biggrin.gif)

Bruce Willis Unveils "Die Hard 5" Clip
Bruce Willis recently appeared on "The Late Show," where David Letterman questioned the actor about the fifth "Die Hard" movie, called "A Good Day to Die Hard."
Willis explained that he already wrapped shooting and even though the film won't be released until February of next year, he was still able to get a clip from the new movie, featuring an older and more emotional John McClane.
Check out the video below, which shows that McClane has bigger worries than rescuing a kidnapped ambassador.

Yippie-kai-yay motherf*cker!
-
February release and haven't heard dick in awhile.... makes me wonder.
-
Neither have I. Possible re-shoots? If that's the case, THAT's not a good sign.
-
It is a red flag but I try not to assume the worst right away-- well, maybe for Die Hard, but remember that Amazing Spider-Man (which you said you liked) had a big chunk of reshoots and Toy Story 2 was pretty much almost entirely reshot maybe six months before it's release.
-
My biggest concern is that Bruce Willis and the production company went into this without a completed script. Granted I've stayed away from knowing anything pertaining to spoilers regarding this installment so I can't say much about that. But Action movies in general always think they can get away with not having a completed script because they have the mentality that bigger and more explosions will cover up that fact. I'm just hoping for the best....but expecting the worst, even though I dig the trailer for the most part. Sad to say.
-
Given the script stories that Kevin Smith was talking about that happened on the last Die Hard, I'm sure that's the case (multiple writers, all with different ideas and goals, overloaded with studio notes).
-
New trailer....
A Good Day To Die Hard has released a brand new trailer in which John McClane and son Jack unleash a family-sized can of hurt on a posse of Eurobaddies.
Plot details remain distinctly blurry, but what we can glean from this new trailer is that the bad guys are Russian, they hate Americans (naturally) and they’re looking to get their hands on a job-lot of uranium.
That’s pretty much it as far as the storytelling goes in this trailer, with the rest of the two minutes 30 dedicated to explosions, wisecracks and general mayhem.
Take a look, below…

I thought the Trailer was good for what it was. Having said that, it doesn't feel right. Doesn't feel like it's part of the Die Hard cannon. I dunno. Am I the only one that feels this way?
-
I didn't really take that away
-
I've watched it a couple more times and I think it has to do with the lack of Bruce Willis in it more than anything else. By that I mean he should have been in it more than what he is.

This is getting slammed by the critics. Usually I could care less, but since it seems be universal on so many bad things, I decided not to go see it this weekend.
-
I wasn't expecting this to be the greatest movie ever, but I wasn't expecting scathing reviews either. Sigh.
