Title: The Predator (2018)
Post by: Chiprocks1 on June 26, 2014, 02:17:34 pm
Shane Black’s ‘Predator’ is a Sequel, Not a Reboot (http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2014/06/26/shane-blacks-predator-is-a-sequel-not-a-reboot/)

We don't have an official name title of the forthcoming movie, so I will just go with Predator 3 for now until it's time to change it. I for one love Shane's writing and it's a bonus that he also co-stared in the Original film. I love that he would rather keep the mythology going strong, rather than another lame reboot. What could make this a true blockbuster worthy of getting my ass into a theater? Arnie of course!!!!

Is it just me or does that reporter talk very weird?

I don't hear anything weird in the way he talks. Sounds normal to me. Daemon is the most popular reporter that IGN has. There's maybe one or two other's that I like giving me my news. The rest are horrible and one in particular I can't stand because of how she talks. I'm not the only one either. NO ONE likes her for that very reason.

Who The New Predator Movie's Protagonist Will Be (http://www.cinemablend.com/news/1523000/who-the-new-predator-movies-protagonist-will-be)

There's talk of Dwayne Johnson taking the lead role here and I'm 100% down for that. Yes, I still want to get Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to pop up somewhere in the film.  Arnie can't carry movies like this anymore, but that doesn't mean he has to sit this out entirely. It would be great to see both taking on a Predator at the same time, but the idea of Dwayne kicking ass in this just makes perfect sense.

EDIT:

Wow, this thread is almost 2 years old to the day and this is the "progress" that has been made in that time?

So a release date... any production dates? Have they started?

add edit: this from IMDB (still vague) - Comments: many articles out with Shane Black saying they're heavily into pre-production and they begin filming in September

Official title is The Predator, but depending on where you read it, it's either scheduled for a  February 9, 2018 release date or March 2, 2018, release date. Either way, it's only a few weeks between them.

Feb or March. I always thought it was kind of implied, those are the dump film time frame for flicks the studios are not confident about or supporting to well. Maybe that's old thinking now?

What is the anticipated perception of audiences receiving this? It has been a very long time since the original predator. All the sequels are either forgettable or tarnished the series.

Is it like ghostbusters and no one is really asking for this? I just think sometimes it's hard to recapture yesteryear. Maybe Independance Day will change that.

I'm not seeing anything that tells me they are willing to break out of the box. Seems like more of the same. With that said, I will definitely check it out when it drops on DVD.
