I think it's safe to say that I'm officially done with The Big Bang Theory. Season 7 just was not funny at all and even worse, the writing was bad. That's not saying much given the fact that it's pretty much the same show as before. But what previous seasons had going for it was the novelty of the characters and situations. But I was just beyond bored with this season and the characters themselves were getting on my nerves. Also, the actors themselves seemed to be bored playing the same thing over and over and it showed. They were sleepwalking through the entire season. I was hopeful that there would be some kind of growth for the show. Give us something new, different. ANYTHING but the same old sh*t. Couldn't wait for this season to end. I was that bored. Only two episodes were good and ironically they were both anchored by Bob Newhart. The gag reel itself was funnier than anything we get during the season. Skip this.

I find your observations interesting. Because the way your watching this is different that intended. I say this because I do watch Big Bang Theory on a weekly basis as presented. I noticed I'm indifferent about the show. For instance, I'm lucky to catch that it's on that night. Then we turn it on, sit down to watch it, sometimes while eating dinner and it's just on. I am so far from a microscope not really noticing the boredom or the stories being told over and over. It's just mild diversions. In my mind this show is far superior than other shows, but my choices have been extremely limited. I hear shows like Parks and Recreation, Always Sunny... and some others are the best ever. I just never got around to checking them out.

So ya, binge watching Big Bang I might have a totally different perspective.

I'm glad you brought up Parks because that show pretty much sums up what I want out of a Comedy show. There is an overall arc to it all. With TBT, it just exist for the purpose of existing and doesn't want to go any further than that. Maybe if I were watching it week to week I wouldn't be as harsh as I am. But it is what it is and it's hugely popular and profitable for CBS. So, to change it now wouldn't make sense.
