I love War movies and Fury is another one to add to the mix that succeeds in a lot of the right places. For starters, it was actually a nice change of pace. How many war movies have there been? Okay, how many actually show you the inner workings of the team and what it takes to operate a Tank to maximum effectiveness? Yeah, when I was watching Fury, it kind of blew my mind that I hadn't seen anything like this before given the amount of War movies out there. Basically the tank that is run by Brad Pitt's character is called Fury and how all American Tanks were at a huge disadvantage against the German tanks that were far superior to ours. Really dug the story that went with this as well. There are a lot of character moments that show how this war (or any war for that matter) can change a person from "I won't kill" to "Die Nazi". They take a page from Saving Private Ryan by having a wet-behind-the-ears newbie, played by Logan Lerman, and we see his slow change and it's fascinating to watch. Pitt, Michael Pena were great and so was Shia LaBeouf, who finally did something of merit. Jon Bernthal is still being typecast in the same role that he plays in everything. But he at least has a valid reason for being a d*ck in that we already see how the War has damaged him already and the toll it has taken. The ending is very reminiscent of 300 when this 5 man team and one Tank takes on a horde of Nazi's. If you love War flicks or just want to see great acting, I highly recommend this as a Rent.
