Title: Educate Yourself (Beware Scams, Scammers and Con Artists)
Post by: Chiprocks1 on June 19, 2015, 10:15:38 pm
Okay, your probably wondering why this new thread devoted to Scammers and whatnot and why now. I've been meaning to do this kind of thread for the past few weeks because my Mom was almost the victim of an IRS scam where they call and demand payment of an Outstanding Balance or risk being tagged with an arrest warrant for non-payment. Luckily I was there when my Mom got the call and the more she got into the conversation, the more worked up she got. She thought this was a legit call and when I saw that it was elevating that's when I grabbed the phone to take over the conversation. They hung up immediately. Duh.

So, that brings me to this thread. The last couple of days I have been sucked into the rabbit hole that is YouTube, watching countless videos of ordinary citizens turning the tables on Scammers and it has been both informative and insanely funny. I intend to post funny prank style retaliation as well as serious warning style vids. Not gonna post in the Pranks sections because there are legit scams that we all need to be aware of, some of which I never heard of until today. Post any videos that you think we can benefit from. I don't want to be in the dark and get suckered.

Potential Child Abusing Gypsy Scam Artists Beg For Money

This is the latest video that I just watched about 5 minutes ago and it was the most riveting 10 minutes I've seen yet. I was completely fascinated in seeing just how far this Gypsy would go just to scam money. I don't know how the dude that was filming this stayed calm and in complete control. I'm also amazed that he didn't bust out laughing at the absurd sh*t coming out of everyone's mouth.

Annoying a PC Support Scammer - (He loses his temper at 5:36)

This one I watched earlier today and was f*cking hilarious!!!! By far the funniest and best in turning the tables. I was busting a gut laughing the entire time. The cherry on top was of course the scammer losing his sh*t at the end. Awesome!!

I forget if I told you guys, but on a very serious note, my ID was stolen and an attempt was made to get my IRS refund this year. If you've been watching the news, this became a major problem this year. IRS has some serious work to do.

I had to jump through major hoops to get my ID confirmed and taxes back on track. Filed letters. Talked to police, had interviews.

Just last month, I finally got the refund. I heard it could take 18 months, but it didn't.

I just got a letter, my social security is now flagged and will be watched closely. From now on I will have to provide the PIN number the government sends me.

These stolen info is getting out of hand. I see it only getting worse.

Good thread... We have to stay on top of this stuff.
