Lucy is not the movie I was expecting. Based on the trailer, it looked like we were going to get an Action Hero flick with a kick ass female lead exerting mighty force and bending space and time to her will in the process. Sure, we get flashes of those, but the movie is more about discovering who and what she is becoming now that she has the ability to use more and more of her brain power as she hits 100%. I think the premise is fascinating here. But the execution by Luc Besson was definitely flawed.

Don't you think that if a person suddenly has the ability to do what she is capable of that there would be a whole range of emotions, from exhilarating to scared to happy to awe as she closer and closer to the moment life began? What we get here from the moment she taps into her brain is that of void, expressionless conduit as she grows. This new personality doesn't make sense, especially when she tells that Cop to stay along for the ride as a "reminder" of what it means to be human. If she is devoid of all "humanistic" traits, then why would she care to be reminded of it? This movie isn't bad by any stretch, it's just not the movie you are expecting to see. Worth a Rent.

Agree.

Lucy didn't turn out anything like I thought it might be. Highly disappointed.
