Trilogy (Episode 1,2 & 3)
First Time Again / JSS / Thank You

Man, I've been super anxious for TWD to air Episode 4 tonight. So much sh*t has already gone down in what is being called the The Trilogy for Season 6 and for good reason. It's essentially the same moment in time told from 3 different sets of characters. Episode 1 was amazing with his non-linear story telling. Totally dug the choice to go with Black and White film for the flashback sequence which was a nice nod to Night of the Living Dead. By the end of the episode, I had said out loud this was the greatest episode ever for TWD. WRONG!

I spoke too soon because Episode 2 would be even better. My thought was that this was going to be a slow episode just in the way it starts off with Carol watching her neighbor smoking, and then out of nowhere some crazy dude comes into frame hacking away at her with a machete. WTF! I was kind of startled at this sight. From there it's just unrelenting carnage as the people in Alexandria are overrun by the crazies known as The Wolves. With an amazing moment for Carol and eventually Morgan, I declared this episode to be the greatest ever. WRONG!

Last week in Episode 3 gave us a couple of shocking moments, one in particular that has had me counting the days until tonight. I'm still shocked at what happens to Glenn. His outcome is all but assured. There is just no way in hell that Glenn can survive on his back with a horde of Walkers feasting on Nicholas who turned out to be the coward I knew him to be. That's the beauty of what Glenn represents, that he is able to look past any and all flaws and still give this guy another chance to redeem himself. When he kills himself, I was like 'good riddance'. But when he topples off the top of the dumpster, pulling Glenn down with him into a sea of Walkers, I literally shouted out 'What the f*ck, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo".  The ending with Rick taking on the Wolves and then stuck in a DOA RV with Walkers closing in on him was another WTF moment.

Yes, I did watch Talking Dead immediately afterwards and they too were struggling to accept what had just happened and started looking for an out for Glenn, which is something I started doing immediately as the scene unfolded and have been doing all week. Glenn falls to the ground with Nicholas on top of him, with Glenn's head near the base of the Dumpster. In my 'out' for Glenn, he shimmies on his back under the Dumpster as he slowly pushes Nicholas off of him to the feasting Walker Horde. Yes, it's a shot in the dark and most likely the thing not to happen......but I'm hopeful. I have to believe Glenn survives because he is one of the four untouchables that can't be killed off. The others being Rick, Carol and Daryl. Sigh. Anyways, this Trilogy is EPIC and I've already watched the first episode 3 times, the second episode 2 times and will most likely watch Episode 3 again tonight before the big reveal later tonight.

FYI, the people of Alexandria are f*cking useless!!!!!!  >:(

The last two episode have been good, but I am somewhat disappointed that they are keeping Glenn's fate in limbo. Looks like this is going to be the narrative for the time being. I wouldn't be surprised that they keep this going well into next season. He will probably only resurface after Maggie has given birth to their child, which would make for a hell of a reunion.

Episode 7
Heads Up

The last few episodes have been good, but I was growing more and more frustrated at the fact that they were still keeping Glenn's fate under wraps. After last weeks episode, I was certain that this would be the norm and they would keep it going until the Season Finale. So, imagine my surprise....and joy in seeing Glenn in the opening scene....surviving exactly as I said it would happen. The fact that they kept his fate concealed for as long as they did only reinforced that he would survive. I'm happy. But the episode itself gave me this impending dread....more so than before. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Well, it dropped....only it wasn't a shoe....but a Church, crashing into the wall and leaving us in a big cliffhanger. Sh*t's gonna hit the fan next week for sure. I don't see how Alexandria can be saved now.

Episode 9
No Way Out

What the f*ck! Welcome back TWD!! Man, the long ass wait for its mid-season return was well worth it. I know I have gone on record touting previous episodes as being "the best ever", but No Way Out really is the quintessential episode for the series. I really can't find any flaws with this one at all. It had everything you can imagine or want for a TWD episode. Thrilling, action packed, suspenseful, shocking, exhilarating. I could go on and on about this one all day. I was white knuckling this the entire duration as it was so tense. A lot of WTF moments that had me thinking they were basically starting over from scratch as they got rid of a lot of characters. I expected that whiny kid to go. What I didn't expect to see was the rest of his family follow suit. Carl getting shot in the face in the manner he does, was another shocking moment as well. Glad to see The Wolf finally meet his end. Hated him. But the one moment that really had me holding my breath was the impending end for Glenn....again! I wouldn't put it past the producers of the show to kill off Glenn and then keep us waiting for 5 weeks before we found out that he was alive, only to turn around and kill him off and that's where it looked like it was heading until Abe and Sasha showed up and went all Rambo to save the day. It was a great moment for Abe for sure. FYI, awesome opening that literally started with a bang. KA-BOOM!!! Daryl needs to trade in his Crossbow for that RPG on a full time basis! It was great to finally see Eugene and Gabriel grow a pair and actually fight and contribute.

Well the mid-season certainly started out guns a-blazing. But watching the last two episodes with the introduction of Jesus, I slowly have become disenchanted. We’ve seen all this played out before. A number of times. Strangers, new community, leader, blah blah blah. The entire 2 episodes seemed like déjà vu.

The sex stuff was new, but I think too little too late.

I’m not giving up, but my anticipation has certainly faded.  I looked forward to Sunday nights. But now, I wouldn’t mind waiting and binge watching.

I agree that the last two episodes were boring as f*ck. I think there are only 2 episodes left, right? I'm guessing they are slowing it down for the sh*tstorm that is sure to come in the Season Finale.

Carl sure did make a quick recovery, especially for being shot in the face, the eye.

I think they mentioned that it was a 2 month time jump from the previous episode. But even that is pushing it when it comes to recovering as fast as he did. Mini-Governor.

Killing people in their sleep. I see what they did there with the contradictory dilemma of killing a fellow human being. It seems counter to what is right... Until you realize these peaceful sleeping human are just as monstrous as the walkers.

I get why Rick and company did what they did, but getting there just seemed way out of character. Up until tonight, they have always been about recon and checking things out first before taking the fight to anyone. But this time, they agree to kill based on the word of a complete stranger (Jesus) and just starting killing with nothing more than that? This episode made me feel very uneasy about it all. Factor in the fact that I was expecting a major character to bite the big one, and you have a recipe for being on edge for the the final 20 minutes.

Well, that's what it's all about. Making these twists and turns to keep the viewer engaged. Hell, Abraham just picks up and leaves... like that. WTF man.

The woman addressing them at the end has me intrigued. Really the who unidentified group does. Let's see what happens.

Episode 13
The Same Boat

After a few lackluster and boring episodes for the past 3 weeks (save for the final 20 minutes last week), we finally get a kick-ass episode that delivered in a big way on a couple of fronts. For me, I'm glad that it was a Carol/Maggie heavy episode. They have been relegated to the background for far too long and to see them carry this episode was fantastic. Last week when it was revealed that they were held captive, I knew everything was going to be alright. I think for most people, they just assume and expect Rick to save the day. This is Carol and Maggie, they are not 'damsel's in distress'. They don't need men to save them and it was great. I knew that Carol was playing possum to get her captor to lower her defense and reveal something that she could use later. The ending was interesting because even though we kind of think that she is still putting on an act, we see that Carol is in fact breaking emotionally. Really curious to see where they are going to take her next. Even Maggie seems to be breaking as well.

Episode 14 Review: Twice As Far

A complete shocker... I'm stunned.

Talking Dead was great. Eugene Porter; who'd thunk he was very funny. Apparently he's 'the' jokster on the set.

It was a great episode for Eugene. Loved the scenes between him and Abraham and finally getting his respect at the end.....even if it meant chomping that guys dick. Haha. And yes, very funny dude, which came across loud and clear on Talking Dead. So, anyone watching those Fear The Walking Dead mini episodes? I'm referring to those 20 second episodes they run during the commercial breaks. It's frustrating to watch because they are so damn short, but there is a very interesting story happening on the plane. Now it ends with the window blowing out mid-flight which left me wanting to see more.

Unlike the 3 episodes a few weeks back, I actually thought this one was a pretty decent one. Even though there was a lot of walking around, there was still sh*t happening to keep me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait for the Season Finale next week. Long time coming and I think there will be a major character parting ways.  :(  The ending of tonight's episode with Daryl getting shot really was a GASP moment that took me totally by surprise.

Episode 16
Last Day on Earth

Normally an episode like this were the group is literally going around in circles trying to outfox the Saviors, I'd give it 3 Stars because nothing is happening, even though it was intense. Go figure. But it's the final 15 minutes with the electric introduction of Negan played by Jeffery Dean Morgan that bumps this up to 4 Stars. The final scene is what everyone will be talking about for a year until it returns. Seriously, a what the f*ck moment in keeping us in the dark as to who meets their ultimate fate. It's one thing that we are now going to have to agonize in a long way, but it's in the manner in which he...or she gets hammered by Lucille the bat. Bloody gruesome. I don't have a clue who it could be.
