Am I the only one on the planet that thinks Jurassic World is over-hyped and doesn't live up to the expectations heaped on it? I never saw it in the theater, but I kept hearing about how awesome the 4th installment was and how it was back to basics from the embryo it was hatched from, literally returning to the same Island and seeing it turned into a Theme Park (only hinted at in the first film). Therein lies the problem with JW. It treads on a lot of the same territory. Hell, at times it felt like I was watching a carbon copy of the original. That's not the only problem I have though. I think the kids just don't add anything to the proceedings at all other than being 'bait' for the Indominus Rex. I kept waiting for them to get feasted on. Furthermore, I absolutely don't get the "love story" between Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters. No chemistry between them at all and on top of that, the flirtation seems so random and comical at times. With that out of the way, the visual FX is a feast for the eyes for sure, but even I wasn't wowed like I was the first time around. I did like that Blue (the raptor) actually fought it's natural urge to kill humans and decided to defend them at the end, which by the way, I saw coming a mile a way. So, that wasn't shocking to see at all. Worth a Rent at best. I highly doubt I'd ever watch this again. Not bad, but not 'Great' as most people have made this out to be.
