It's so weird not to have that anymore.

Though if you haven't seen it, you may try Jeeves and Wooster.  Same era, heck, they go to the same house in some episodes, but slightly different... and all-around entertaining.  I didn't enjoy it the first time I was exposed to it, but now I love it.

Downton Abbey (Season 6 - The Final Season - 2016)

I think in my review for Season 1, I mentioned that I'm not a fan of Victorian Era stories. I find them to be boring and pretentious and something I've never been able to relate to. All that changed when I discovered Downton Abbey. Even though I thought the series was good in that first season, I still believed that I would eventually grow tired of the show and bail on it. That never happened and here we are....the Final Season and I'm already missing it. Season 6 was a fantastic way to wrap up the series. It had everything. It was sad, it was happy, it was shocking and most importantly of all, it was damn funny at times when it needed to be. I'm really going to miss the characters, especially the actors and actresses that played their respective roles. I can't remember if I ever laughed as much as I did watching Season 6 compared to other seasons, but it gives me a smile whenever I think of certain things and looks and scenarios that transpired this season. If you guys have never gotten on board with the show before, do yourself a favor and start now. I highly recommend it. One last thing before I end this, I was really glad to see that Allen Leech return as Tom. When he made his grand entrance in Episode 3, it really was a surprise because I figured he was completely written off the show at the end of Season 5. Also glad to see Lily James return as Lady Rose, albeit for the Series Finale only. Better one, than none I say. Okay, one more thing, they really did a great job of tying up all the loose ends and giving them a believable send off.

Slight point of order, it's not Victorian, it's Edwardian.  And I think the reason this works for you while other dips into this time period fail is because it's about the END of that era, where those weird rules and restrictions get nullified and a modern, recognizable, and FAIR world starts to emerge.  And the show is able to be about that AND still has a genuine affection for the old ways, so it's sort of balanced in the way it explores it.  Jeeves and Wooster, somewhat similarly, is almost like an ode to the innocence of the era and how it was cut short because of the War.
