The first 3 seasons were fun and entertaining in spite of some serious flaws. Season 4 was a huge step down. But Season 5 is just awful. The entirety of this season was already on shaking ground, but it's the Series Finale that really drives in the nail for this coffin. More on that in a bit. Everything leading up the Finale was exactly what happened in Season 4. Sloppy and lazy writing, horrible FX, sh*tty editing and embarrassingly bad acting. I blame everyone involved with this season. It's like everything that ends up on screen was a first take. If you blew a line or were wooden as f*ck, it was a take, print and onto the next set up. As for the Finale, I have never been more p*ssed at an episode that was "wrapping" everything up. The problem is that none of it made sense. It was just downright stupid what they gave us. For starters, ripping off a big chunk from Aliens is an automatic fail. Using essentially the same Alien Eggs in a dark room hatching and a Queen Alien was just a cheap way to go. The whole "confrontation" between Tom and the Queen was laughably bad. And then there is the whole Tom and Pope arc that didn't even deliver what was promised us for 5 seasons!!! Having him sneak up on Tom at the beach and then just dying while sitting also didn't make any sense and was a huge cop out. F*CK! I wasted so much time on something the creator and writers just didn't care enough about to actually put the work needed to give us something memorable. GARBAGE!!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!! With that said, if you have watced the first 4 seasons, you're going to end up checking out this season just to complete it in spite of me telling you it sucks. Have fun.
