I've been waiting a long time for Season 5 and I did everything I could to avoid spoilers. But there was one spoiler that was unavoidable because it was all anyone was talking about....everywhere. More on that in a bit. So what about the season as a whole? It was a solid season, but there was a noticeable drop from previous season. I'm being picky here, but a season that doesn't have one scene involving Bran, The Hound or The Mountain would be enough to drop my rating for this. But factor in that there is hardly any Brienne throughout the bulk of Season 5 was a bit too much to fathom. The other reason why I don't think this is on par with previous season is that there wasn't a whole lot of moments to drive the first 7 episodes forward in a compelling way. With that said, it's the final 3 episodes where they went for broke and gave me (and I'm guessing every GoT fan out there) something truly breathtaking. Episode 8 gave us the White Walker War at the Wildings camp, Episode 9 finally gave us a Dragon moment that more than lived up to all the hype of what the series has been promising and Episode 10 is no doubt the most talked about Season Finale with Jon Snow.

Overall, as I said, the season was solid, but I think this season would play much better if it was part of one of my huge marathon's where I just play every episode back to back to back. But having waited so long to get my hands on Season 5, it was somewhat of a "letdown" as a whole. But the final 3 episodes more than make up for that. Definitely still picking Buying for sure. FYI, if any of you guys are watching Season 6 (I know it just started), keep any and all information out of this thread. I don't have HBO and will have to once again go into avoiding spoilers again. Ugh.

I forgot to comment on Lena Headey's  n u d e  Walk of Shame. It was done very badly. Either she does it herself or they at least be creative in hiding her  n u d i t y  if she's not comfortable with how the scene plays out. Having her use a   n u d e  body double and then superimposing her face onto the body double was just horrendous. It never looked good. It called too much attention to itself because the FX was shoddy at best. At no time did I ever think it was actually Lena. I knew it wasn't.

I think Brienne was otherwise occupied with another suit of armour.

This season was... fine.  Loved the last three episodes as well.

I wish we had seen more of the Sand Snakes, but I think they're in season 6.  I definitely need more of the Most Beautiful Woman In The World, cause... dang.  The whole time, though, I kept noticing Keisha Castle Hughes in the background, the first scene of them all I could hear her saying "I won on Oscar so I'm gonna make a speech!"  Then she's just hanging out for the rest of the season.  At least she's in that Cameron Crowe show.  And dude, Dr Bashir as their father/king?  I love that dude.  Sid never gets enough work, in my book.

Oh man, that bit where they burn the kid at the stake?  That was horrific.  Amazing stuff.  And that worked as well as could be expected.

BTW, the bit where Dany and the Dragon, at the end?  I honestly expected her to be in, like, America or something.  I mean, not AMERICA America (I thought those Dothraki were Indians for a minute or two), but like the Game Of Thrones version of the Old West or something.  That would be real interesting.

I wonder if we'll see more of Samwell, now that he and Gilly are off.  I'm pretty sure we're going to see more of Bran and Hodor this new season, I guess we'll see.  And I only now realized with Arya blind, temporary or permanently, makes her Zatoichi!  That's dope!

BTW, Iwan Reohn... Simon from Misfits, the crazy sadist kid running Winterfell who made Reek Reek, that dude got cast as Hitler in a new TV series.  Someone on Reddit wonderfully said "this is the first actor who has to lighten up to play Hitler."  Brilliant.

As for the walk of shame, because you mentioned it... I don't know what to think about it.  i get the reasoning on both side, I know it looked hokey, but I also thought it went on too long (though it's like Irreversible, it has to be long so it becomes as unsexy as possible), so it's a complicated issue.

BTW, the knight at the end of the walk, the giant one... there's something going on there, I forget what I was thinking but like zombie or something, I dunno.  Not human.  Like 80% sure he ain't human and no one knows it.

I don't know who the Giant was in the armor, but I'm pretty sure he was some sort of "Frankenstein" that one guy was working on in his lab. We only get a glimpse of somebody that's covered up with a cloth on a table, suddenly kicking and making a commotion. So, I'm guessing they are one and the same. So now they have the ability to bring back the dead. Who else will they suddenly bring back? Hmmmmm........ FYI, I want to see more of Wun Wun!! That character looks f*cking awesome!!

I forgot about that Frankenstein creature!  How did I forget that!  And I do remember that Bolton Sr, the flayed man, might very well be a vampire.

Getting back to Iwan Reohn, when I first saw Misfits (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/tv's-greatest-hits-and-misses/misfits-(season-1)/msg92/#msg92) years ago, I found his character to be very lacking. But then that was the brilliance of his acting because it led me and I'm guessing everyone else, down a different path. By the end of the season, I thought it was on track to being something very interesting. Eventually, he ended up owning the series for the time he was on. When news broke that he was joining GoT, I was very happy with that news because I knew exactly what he would bring to his role, in spite of not knowing who or what he would be playing. So, everything he has done for the past 2 seasons has been phenomenal. With the loss of King Joffery, Iwan's role is even more important because he has created the one true villain of the series.

AND Ramsey (I remember his name) is going to be the next line of defense once the White Walkers cross the wall (because without Jon Snow OR Samwell there, we don't give a sh1t about anyone and they can all be slaughtered).  So that leads you to wonder what he will do to bolster his numbers and defend Westeros.  He's horrifically cruel in relative peacetime.  What will happen when he has his back to the wall?

This is how I see the events playing out. It might take a season or two....or three. But Theon "Reek" has to be the one that kills Ramsey and then it has to be Sansa that kills Theon. That's the only justice I will feel satisfied with. Any other deviation from that order is going to be a HUGE letdown for me.

Lean Headey Shamed and Bullied Over Walk of Shame (http://www.inquisitr.com/3025457/game-of-thrones-star-lena-headey-shamed-and-bullied-over-breasts/)

Since I have spent so much time avoiding spoilers for Season 5, I never got wind of the anger most people have leveled at Lena. I don't think the scene itself is so troublesome to warrant this kind of negative abuse toward her. As I said in my post, they could have implied the  n u d i t y  at first and then spent the remainder of the scene shooting it in creative ways to hide it all. My issue with the scene had nothing to do with her acting ability (which by the way was off the charts amazing). My criticism is the FX itself because in spite of what other people are saying about it, it absolutely is NOT seamless. It looks off and awkward. I feel really bad that Lena has had to endure some much hatred for this.
