I dug The Maze Runner and was hopeful that The Scorch Trials would continue in the same trajectory, even though I knew that they really couldn't go back to the same well of another Maze. Even with that, I was still hopeful. Well, sad to say, but this sequel falls right smack in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 territory by giving us what amounts to nothing more than a set up for the 3rd installment. There were a few things I liked in this one, but for all intents and purposes a whole lot of nothing happens. Hell, Scorch even does the same thing that Mockingjay Part 1 did and that was just to end the film with no kind of resolution which just devalued the flick even more so in my eyes. Only check this out if you intend on watching the entire series at once. Where I was actually looking forward to the 2nd Installment, my enthusiasm for the next one is very low now.

My reaction as well.

I'm also hearing, that's the way the book is as well?

Regardless, I've already forgotten most of the scorch trials

Never read the books, but that seems even worst in printed form than the movie itself because it takes a couple of weeks to read as oppose to just 2 hours on film. I can't imagine reading that much to end up there.
