Education aka College

I had to start this thread because there are more and more ridiculous stories of colleges and their practices. Some are so absurd, you'd think it was the Onion. But there is so much stupidity coming out of various colleges... I'm just glad I'm not going or have kids that attend. With trigger words and Political Correctness going overboard, we've lost what it means to go to college. It use to be THE place to go for open thinking and discovering the world. Not today...

I wish I was making this up....

Let's start off with the latest BS coming out of Vanderbilt

Overpriced Fancypants University Festoons Campus With Absurd ‘Ze, Zir, Zirs’ PRONOUN POSTERS

Vanderbilt University has festooned its campus with professionally-designed posters which instruct students to use an exotic set of pronouns to refer to students and professors who refuse to admit they are either males or females.

The posters provide third-grade level instruction to college students at the obscenely expensive private bastion about how to use the pronoun groups “he” and “she.” (“I support him in the classroom by honoring his pronouns.” “I support her in the classroom by honoring her pronouns.”)

The fancypants university’s “Faculty Senate Gender Inclusivity Task Force” created the posters (“with input from LGBTQI Life”). The posters are entitled — in huge font — “What Should I Call You?”

After a remedial lesson on how to use “they” pronouns, there is instruction for two exotic sets of pronouns: “ze, zir, zirs” and “ze, hir, hirs.”

The way to use these comically stupid pronouns — which have exactly zero chance of becoming part of the English language — is: “I support zir in the classroom by honoring zirs pronouns.” There’s also “I support hir in the classroom by honoring hirs pronouns.
