Frehley's Comet (Live At Hammersmith, London - 1988)
This show was way too short. Not sure why this was edited down in size. It was originally released on VHS when it first came out, so there wasn't really a concern about how much content they could get on tape. The show would have been so much better if it were a full concert. Sadly, this is probably the only thing we will ever get from Frehley's Comet in concert. As for the show, it was good, but strange. Strange in that out of the 7 songs, Tod Howarth sings lead on two of them. Also really bizarre is listening to him introducing Shock Me. He literally recites word for word what Paul Stanley does when introducing the song. These are minor issues though and it doesn't take away what this is really about...Ace Frehley.

Ace Frehley (LIVE 9/2/12)
This was a fantastic show, even if the quality of the video was only marginally okay. But that's fine with me when the performance comes through loud and clear. I've only seen Ace 'live' as a solo act by way of the full concerts I've posted in this thread and for me this is the best one because it's the closet to the real thing as you are going to get. I like that it's just one camera, no edits and no bullsh*t. The Set List was awesome as well because it plays like a 'new' and 'fresh' version of a KISS set list. Throw in a few gems from Ace's solo catalog and you have a very inviting selection of songs to pull from. One of these days I will get to see him live as a solo artist. It's on my list. I just wish he would come around here so that I can cross it off my list of things to do. Grrr!

Ace Frehley (Live in Nijmegen, Holland 2010)

Set List
Coming soon....
-
watching the Hammersmith show right now.
I understood a LYRIC I never **** knew what Gene was singing...when Ace sang it I was like THAT is what he says???
was cool
"the girl next door, her lights are out yeah"
I had NO idea my whole life what the lyrics were....I always thought it was something to the effect of...."the liquor store, hurl lights around yeah..."
-
(http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/lol.gif)
-
actually my original version was more like this "the comet store....hurrrlll lights around yeahhh"
:)
that show was GREAT.
one of Ace's best solo bands I think...everything was pretty tight.

Ace Frehley (Live In Danbury - November 9, 1995 - Just For Fun Tour)
The quality of this show leaves a lot to be desired. There are parts where the sound drops out completely. Not sure if it was technical problems with Ace's guitar or if it's just a bad copy of the tape with drop outs. Whatever the case may be, it was pretty annoying. Also, I'm not a fan of medley's and having Ace do that for Insane, Trouble Walkin', Rock Soldiers, Speedin' Back To My Baby and Hard Times was not cool at all. Those songs deserve the full treatment. Also, I hated the way that New York Groove sounded. It was horrible and opening the song with an out-of-tune bass derailed the song from the beginning.
I did like Ace having Peter Criss come out to sing a duet with him on Strange Ways, Nothin' To Lose and Rock And Roll All Nite, but even that was mired in f*ck ups when Peter forgot the words to Rock And Roll All Nite. Ouch. Even with all of these problems, I'd still watch this show again. Well, I would watch the part of the show where it's Ace. But once it gets into the Bass Player and the other Guitar Player taking over the set, it becomes ridiculous and sophomoric with his playing "ability".
-
watching the Danbury show now...Ace really knows how to put on a live show.
great set list, no **** around between songs that get's weird....he goes right in and just kicks ass.
-
I feel incredibly sorry for people who do NOT realize the greatness of KISS' music. Checking out that thread and listening to the tracks live...I mean it's as good as rock and roll gets.
Strange Ways....I mean come on...that song is a great 70's rock tune.
the image really did a number on some folks who can't see past it.
too bad for them because they are missing out!!
-
San Diego
we've seen this many times
but I wanted to watch more versions live
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxLUuq12mIU
-
Keep your ears and eyes peeled for when Ace comes to town. I've seen him live with KISS a few times, but I need to see him on his own to cross off my bucket list. Hell, if I have to, I'd hit LA if that was the closet he would get to San Diego again.
-
FYI, the set list for the Danbury Show is different from what is listed. Detroit Rock City anyone?
-
wait??
In "Makin Love"
the lyric isn't making "making love, love, love one eyed dog?"
hahahahahaha
-
Haha. You need to get your ears checked!
-
WHAT??
-
did you know this?
The blond streak in Pauls hair was and I quote "The blonde streak was supposed to be the fire tale of a shooting star"
I never thought of that....**** amazing!!!
-
I thought the blond streak was because Gene was making him a nervous wreck....even as far back as '73.!!
-
hahahahahhaaha
did you know that was supposed to be the tail of the shooting star?
it totally makes sense when you think that (at least for me now)
still plowing through all those photos....there are so many...the posts are really fun to read too!
-
still downloading pics...so much kick assness....gah
I want to save all the comments....there's so much good info on the pics...about the guitars etc.
really interesting.
I get the impression the page was created by 2 life long roadies for the band...one is named Mike...he's been with the band since 1974-2012. I get the impression he's NOT with the band anymore and is working on a KISS roadie book to be released soon.
so it should be a very interesting page to watch.
there's another guy named Troy who posts who I think also worked with the band in the prime years/
-
I'd definitely be down for a book by a KISS Roadie for sure. But don't they have confidentiality clauses specifically so that former employees can't write tell-all books?
-
that would not cover "behavior" only when you'd be working for them...because they could fire you....for something else...even though really you pissed them off.
a confidentiality clause probably would be things like not saying thing ahead of time...or back in the day leaking images of the band etc.
once you aren't working for the band.....that would all go out the window.
-
Well, I'm not privy to the in's and outs of those types of agreement, but I was under the impression that the standard is that former employees (not just of KISS, but everyone) couldn't profit off the name or likeness of whoever for something like 2 years after termination. That's what I remember hearing a while back. I'm all for an insiders look into the machine that is KISS. At least this way we can get even more inside information that hasn't gone through a spin doctor.
-
that could be right./
these guys for sure worked for the band....there's at least 3 that know a LOT about the band I am talking way past what any fan would know...and they refer to them as you know....they worked together saying "when we did this, and we did that"
so these are guys who for sure put this page together...and then have all met here to talk about their past...
like I said the one guy basically has the years he's worked with kiss as basically 1974 to 2012...and he may even still work with them...and just hasn't updated his facebook bio page/
but anyway...I am STILL going through photos...there's a **** TON...and I love it!!

Ace is in the f*cking zone!!! Ferocious!!
-
Even Gene and Paul are secretly watching this show right now and marveling at Ace's awesomeness!! Right now Shannon is banging on the door and asking what Gene is doing behind closed doors. Gene's safest response is "I'm watching p o r n ". Yup, he rather the wife think he is watching p o r n instead of admitting to an even more embarrassing prospect: that he is a closet Ace fan.

What an awesome, kick ass show that was! That is by far the best Ace Frehley show I've come across on YouTube. The audio is about as good as you're going to get for a bootleg. The bass, drums, guitars and vocals were all perfectly mixed so as not to step on one another. Video was okay for what it is. But the true measure of a show is the Set List, and this one was Ace's!!! Killer songs, one after the other. For me, the cherry on top was Love Gun. Gawd, that song just kicks so much ass!! Props to Ace for keeping Eric Carr's memory alive. I love it that he always sends his love to the man by shining a light on him when he dedicates a song to him. Awesome. I need to see Ace live as a solo artist. Come to San Diego, man!! Ack!! This show gets 5 Stars out of 5. Gonna watch it again tonight for sure. Ace's playing was intense!
-
going in to watch this fully now...checked out the first 4 or 5 songs...to be honest track one was a little rough...but it seemed to even out after that song...but yeah rip it out he was off on guitar and vocals pretty good...was listening not watching so maybe he fell down or the sound system and monitors were throwing him off at first/
-
Great show...watched the full thing....some really classic tunes, and the band was great too....second show of the tour and they were already slaying it live!
-
Awesome show. Been playing it over and over in my head today while working out in the garage.

playing-wise this show seems a little stronger than the other to me...not watching it though, so not sure if it's not as flashy...but he's singing and playing I think a little better than the other show.
song selection isn't as KISS oriented though

Mr. Ace will be here this weekend at Contamination (http://www.con-tamination.com/)
-
Lucky 'sum b*tch!! I'm STILL waiting for him to return to San Diego as a Solo artist. Sigh. How's the Contamination venue? Capacity? Good PA System?
-
Folks are saying this announcement alone will just spike it through the roof for attendance of the event
-
A Frehley's sighting is rare these days. He really doesn't tour all that much and that's why I'm still holding out hope he will grace us again. Sooner, rather than later.
-
Ha. I dug a little deeper and saw that this is a Horror Convention and not a Music venue. Never heard of the convention before till now.
-
I didn't have time to read the entire thread of new posts./
my guess (and I stress the word guess) Ace is only doing a signing Chip. He charges $20-25 a signature, and that's how he's making money these days. Don't worry too much a guarantee when a horror or comic con comes to LA he'll be doing it there too.
was a funny coincidence because as you know I've always been on team "Peter and Ace" now I sort of think....**** them. There is NO way KISS would be doing anything with either of these two guys in the band. I was listening to an old interview with Peter the other day and thinking....all he'd be happy with is NO Kiss which would still mean NO money for him.....Gene and Paul kept it going. Ace could play shows and make records, but it's easier for him to do nothing with music and make a few grand just signing autographs......Peter just isn't healthy enough physically and I don't even think mentally to play or tour and hasn't been in 10 years....so it's really tough to care about either of them.
they kind of made their beds...and they can lie in them/
and reading your above comment. I was 100% right.
Ace doesn't do music anymore.
his Anomaly tour was one show.
he's a fool.
-
and another thing.
a few grand is a loose term. I bet Ace will **** up his signing "tours" also...he notorious for over charging the venues to appear and they don't make their money back....hence he's biting the hand he feeds and I highly doubt most would ever have him back.

Gonna rock this now. I find it interesting that his 'Just For Fun' Tour ran for longer than 2 years. Interesting because it would seem that he wouldn't be able to go for that long on his own. With KISS he HAS to, but with a tour of his own, I get the impression that he would sleep in and never want to get out of bed, let alone rock a different city every night.
-
too bad it wasn't Spring Valley San Diego!!
will have to check this out later....put it on my to-do list!!
-
I find it really bizarre to hear Ace doing Paul's 'Cold Gin' rap. "What, I can't hear you! I can't hear you! I can't hear you! Cold Gin". Weird. This isn't the first time I've heard him doing this, but listening to it right now, feels strange. Strange Ways! ZING!

did you watch this one yet?
-
Nope. Just checked on YouTube a few minutes ago and found this one. Will watch in a bit.
-
Ace just isn't as strong as KISS post KISS...if that makes sense....nearly all era's off KISS post Ace are solid.
Ace not so much. I want to like these...but he lacks a professionalism many times KISS has maintained....a lot of times Ace's band just looks like faceless guys hired because someone else scouted them
Ace seems disconnected to the band and although he's still cool...sort of...I find these a much harder sell than most KISS shows...that one concert was pretty cool though...I will say that (other Anomaly show.)
can't wait to check this out though...I'd love for him and his band to prove me wrong!

listening to the Peter interview right now...he's funny because if age wasn't a factor and his health....he sounds ready to join KISS and do another 10 years!! hahahaha
sucks that time is moving because Tommy and Eric would be shitting their pants right about now...because in a weird way this was the ball that got things rolling back in 1995-ish.
:)
listen to Peter first for sure ok?
because his was broadcast first and there's references to it in Ace's interview.
-
I will check out the interviews as soon as I'm done with the book (Nothing To Lose). Sadly, I only have about 5-6 pages left. F*ck! I tried to read this as slow as possible and now........it's over. F*CK!!!!

Have you watched this? Any good?
I have a couple shows from SD but can't remember year...that thumbnail doesn't look familiar...but any new upload will have a different thumbnail...so that doesn't mean much.
I generally prefer when Ace is the only singer.
:)
-
Prior to the full show being posted, I've seen a handful of the clips as stand alone songs. Remember, this is the one that has Peter coming out to sing Strange Ways, Nothing to Lose, Rock and Roll All Nite. As for the show, I like it. The way that it's shot, being so close to the stage, it kind of feels like they are just in a rehearsal space. As for Ace being the only singer, I think I've only seen one, maybe two shows where he was the only one. It just doesn't happen all that much. Going back to the the Frehley's Comet years, he has always has a second singer to fill in the gaps. Insane , Rock Soldiers , Speedin Back To My Baby sound great, even with the audio not being the best for what we get. Makes me wanna rock the f*ck out.

Ace Frehley - New York Groove (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)

Looks like Ace just hit the Big Time! Gene, Paul and Peter (along with Ace) did a skit on The Tonight Show when Jay Leno was hosting. But I do think that with this apperance, Ace takes the lead. He's definitely BACK! Back in the New York Groove!

ACE FREHLEY (LIVE) LOST IN LIMBO GIMME A FEELIN NEW BRUNSWICK NJ 11/13/14
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUmhZ3eAvfc
Videos are finally starting to pop up from last night's Opening Night for Ace's Space Invader Tour. I've read a lot of reviews on other sites and they have not been to kind to say the least. What are they expecting? It's called ring rust and rehersals can't fix all the problems. It can only go up from here.
-
I just watched the above clip and I thought it was great. Not sure what people are b*tching about, but those two songs got me really pumped up to see him Live on the tour if he rolls by here. One interesting fact is that in the comments I read, ticket prices for last nights show was $20. If that price holds firm here, I'm so there.

ACE FREHEY (LIVE) NEW YORK GROOVE NEW BRUNSWICK NJ OPENING NIGHT 11/13/14 FRONT ROW
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TPE9IBo8mI
-
Okay, now I get why people are bashing the show. That was a MAJOR f*ckup during New York Groove. If the rest of the show was marred by major flubs like that, I'd be p*ssed as well. That was embarrassing to say the least.
-
I couldn't watch it here at work? What happened?
-
He forgot the guitar solo and immediately called himself out on it and tried to talk his way out of it. Instead of going into the solo, he started playing the lead out riff that closes out the song. It was such a massive failure. I chalk it up to opening night nerves and just a simple brain fart.
-
hahaha
he won't let that happen again.
whoops
was sort of a brain fart...it happens...rarely but you can totally blank out and I'd chalk it up to this
my guess is the drummer and also the band did some sort of odd cue or riff that threw Ace into another part of the song...sort of like Deja Vu...my guess is that triggered him to blank out. if you listen the rest of the band stops playing then Ace does...it's not the other way around.
I think they ****ed up and left Ace hanging/

Seriously, I think we just found Paul Stanley's replacement. Get the "Coogie Monster" in KISS now!!!! Love this video. 3 Songs, each one sounding better than the last. I didn't want it to end.

is he playing Outta Space this tour...that is one of my favorite tracks of Anomaly.
-
No idea. But I have read a couple of reviews of his tour and they implored Ace to drop the opening act and just play a 3 hour show given the amount of songs he has to choose from. Would love to see him pull a 'Bruce Springsteen' and do a marathon show. Won't happen, but it's fun to think he could and would.
-
you know actually I think I heard something like he does no songs off Anomaly...now that I think about it.
could be wrong...but I swear I heard that.
and only 3 songs off the 78' solo record...which might have changed as he did more shows.
-
Why he wouldn't play anything from Anomaly is baffling. I think he should play '78 in it's entirety....from start to finish. ;D
