The game is being released simultaneously with the movie of the same name. Cash cow. I'm not holding my breath that this one is gonna be any different from all the other video game/movie tie-ins that have sucked.

Having just watched the Totally Rad Show's episode on GDC 2012, and listening to what they had to say about their hands on demo of the game, I am stoked. Based on what they said, the game mechanics is very similar to that of Batman: Arkham City. And he took it a step further and said that The Amazing Spider-Man game is better than Batman. That's a pretty bold statement and my interest in this game has just shot through the roof. You will need to jump to the 4:40 mark for where they start talking about the game.

The Amazing Spider-Man Review (Gamespot)

I totally forgot the game was coming out today. Although Gamespot gave this a 7.5 rating out of 10, which is good, I will wait to hear what IGN has to say. I didn't particurly get anything from this review other than a recap of what was happening on screen which really didn't tell me much. It sounded like the reviewer was just reading from a script.

IGN gave it 7,0 which is just 'Good'. I dunno. That score seems pretty low and with that, I won't be buying this game at full price now. For a game that is asking over 60 bucks not including tax, the game has to get at least a minimum of 9.0. Looks like this game is going on my "wait-till-it-hits-the-bargin-bin" for me. Once it's around 25-30 bucks I will look into this. Disappointed at such low scores. Sigh.
