It's never too early to talk about Football, even if there is a good chance there won't be any this year.   >:(

Eric Weddle, baby!!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! What the **** has gotten into AJ Smith this off season? He's NEVER been this nice to Charger fans.

Chargers and Weddle Agree To Terms (http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/jul/27/weddle-and-chargers-agree/)

All that I'm concerned with now is making sure that we can sign Vincent Jackson to a long term deal. We will have him for at least 1 year but I'd sleep better at night knowing we have him locked up long term. That's contract "locked up" , NOT incarcerated "locked up" you fuckers.

Chargers won baby! Not only did they win, but they looked good doing it. And what makes it even better is that we beat the Cowboys in their house. Suck on that Jerry Jones! Bwhahahahaha!!!

HAHA! Its funny because you think they looked good doing it. Oh where to start.

1. Dallas has yet to unleash there full offensive arsenal. Miles being out with a hammy tweak and Coach Garrett not even scratching the surface of what he has in his book.

2. Coach Ryan has a brand new defensive system thats had a very compressed time to install. We are learning very quickly though. The Broncos running and passing game looked good against us in the first pre season game so you go ahead and celebrate. We all know how San Diego starts off seasons. MUAHAHAHAHA!

I will give the Chargers credit for 1 thing though. Bob Sanders played in 2 games now and ISN'T out for the rest of the year! HOLY SHITE SHAGGY!

Compared to how the Chargers always get off to a slow set, even in pre-season. It was a huge step in the right direction.

Chargers win 34-31 over the Cardinals with 4 seconds left in the game. Hey, pre-season or not, whenever there is an opportunity to come here and say we won, then that's just what I will do.  ;D

The 3rd preseason game is really the only one you can put much stock in. After seeing the other 3 teams in the AFC west play and then seeing the very healthy Chargers I don't see how they don't sweep the division.

I think it's safe to say that the Colts will not be a factor in the post season...or even the regular season this year.

I asked for Sunday and Monday off just for tomorow AND I don't have to be to work till 10 am Tuesday so I get to watch BOTH monday nights games!!!!! Now I just need to sit and wait for the games to start tomorow and track my 3 fantasy teams and decide what jersey to wear, Romo, Ware, Witten, Austin, or Bryant. Decisions decisions!

I need Rivers and Floyd to do well at least because they are both on 1 of my fantasy teams. LOL

Ahhh see thats just it I need the Chargers to win I just need Rivers and Floyd to do well. I hope VJ and Gates fail miserably because I don't owne either of them. I do LOVE Rivers though he is a yards gaining machine. I have Tolbert on the bench as a back up although I'm unsure if the Chargers are running a running back by committee this year or not or even where Tolbet falls in the depth chart. Things I should know since I drafted him, it is a 12 man league and it was late rounds and I needed a back up to Rice and Beanie Wells. I wanted Rivers in 2 of my leagues but my 1st league but some bastard took him right before me but my backup plan was Romo. I also have the Chargers defense in my Romo league because I think they are going to have a monster year.

Ryan Mathews is the top dog at RB. At least that's what the FO is ramming down our throats. We all want him to succeed, but right now he is a liability when it comes to holding onto the ball. So, he may be the starter...by name only. The real running back for us is Tolbert and he is a fan favorite, which Ryan is not, only because he hasn't really shown us anything other than fumbling the ball at the most crucial of times.

Tolbert is a beast and so damn fun to watch run and run over the opponents. BAM!!!!

Sounds like they are the Giants of the west..... well except SD has a better qb and defense. The Giants have Jacobs and Bradshaw where Bradshaw is the fumbler. I sooooooooo cant wait for the stress and pregame vomit that comes with tomorows games. Yes my nerves are so frazzled before a Cowboys game I tend to throw up. Sue me.

Pretty disappointing day but also at the same time very excited for the rest of the year. We dominated the Jets for all of the game up til the forth. But unlike the Redskins and Eagles we played a great team that obviously is well coached. The Eagles and Skins played horrible teams that didn't even go to the playoffs last year. Our defense is worlds better than last year and the offense is pretty potent and ran plays that I've never seen them run before which means theres alot new in Garrets playbook. San Francisco isn't going to know what hit them next week.

What the hell?! Tom Brady throws for 517 yards last night on Monday Night Football. Sh*t. Of course it's our luck that the Chargers get to play them next week on their turf. Ugh. Other than that one game where we ended their home win streak (I believe it was at 21 games IIRC....5-6 years ago), we have sucked donkey balls playing on their grass. Bah!!!! Hell, we suck against them here. This should be fun. We need to FINALLY step up and make a statement once and for all. No more of this "will get 'em next year" crap.

Well that interception was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Chargers driving to at least make this a game going into Half Time. Epic fail. It takes all of 8 seconds for Tom Brady to move down field and position them for a field goal.

Patriots 20
Chargers 7

Same sh*t, different season.

Chargers suck and get owned every year by the Pats. I am giving it some serious thought to not even return for the second half because the writing on the wall is pretty clear from here.

What a boring ass and sloppy first half has been. We may be leading 10-0 going into the half, but we have sucked in every way imaginable. And I'm seeing a bad pattern starting to emerge with Philip Rivers. He is trying to make something happen, more so this season than ever before, leading to stupid interceptions just for the sake of airing it out. Ugh.

Also, something is seriously wrong in the NFL Universe when the Bills can accomplish what the Chargers never can do, and that's beat the Patriots. And the fact that the Bills were down 21-0 and still won is mind blowing. What the hell?!

Post by: Chiprocks1 on September 25, 2011, 04:16:05 pm
Chargers are sooooooo lucky. Chiefs were driving for the tying field goal and could have potentailly had a play or two to win it with a TD with less than a minute on the clock. But God bless that Matt Cassel, who threw the most bone headed pass/interception ever. He threw it right to an unsuspecting Eric Weddle, who was the most surprised player to turn around....and the ball was right there.

Chargers 20
Chiefs 17

Chargers 2-1 on the season.

Chargers leading 23-10 over the Donkeys heading into the half. Other than a few mistakes, we have looked really good, especially on the ground with Ryan Mathews and Jacob Hester. I have been extremely impressed with Ryan this season. A healthy Ryan is a dangerous Ryan. He's got the lateral movements and the cuts to go with the speed. He could and should have a monster year if he stays healthy.

Props to Philip Rivers for bootlegging the TD. He knew he was going to get drilled, but he didn't care. He's got some balls on him for sure.

Chargers 29
Donkeys 24

We got sloppy in the second half and lucky at the end of the game. Games against the Donks always leave me feeling exhausted because of crazy stuff like this game.

Chargers 4-1 on the season, our best start since 2006. How long has it been since we started off so good? It was the year LT set the single season record for most rushing TD's by a RB.

Yeah I stewed over the Lions loss for a day a quickly got over it. This week the Feables lost again and the Vagiants blew it against the Seahawks.  Its amazing the energy I've spent explaining to Eagles fans why exactly there team sucks so bad. Its the same stuff I've been saying since they started collecting useless high priced free agents. I am SO glad Dallas didn't get Nnambdi SOOOOO GLAD! I still dont see how he was rated as the best in the game. He's shown hes a 1 trick pony with his inability to play in a zone defense and how he has no concept of how to tackle someone. There terrible Oline is the same terrible Oline from last year and Vick , well he's exactly who I've said he is, a running back that occasionally throws and wouldn't know a progression if it hit him in the face with a dead dog. The Eagles are a mess and I love it.

I'm excited about the game against the Pats because we have everyone coming back in healthy and pissed. With the performance of Laurent Robinson against Detroit we have a real 3rd receiver, no more guessing. With what I've seen from this new Dallas coaching staff the game planning is superb and detailed for situational play. I love me some Rob Ryan and how he's using the line backers. I'm also loving second year LB Sean Lee, he has turned into the defenses QB. He's super intelligence and has the ability to back it up, leading the league in tackles through 4 weeks and a couple of INTs. Defense was also leading the league in sacks and run defense.

Theres still a long way to go but the way we've played has me pretty hopefull for the rest of the year.

Chargers inconsistent play finally caught up with them today. So far on the season, we have played "good", i.e. decent football in the first half and sloppy and predictable play in the second half.

We suck against the Jets. We can't beat sh*tty teams for whatever reason. I'm just confused about the mentality of every Chargers team for the past 1,000 years. The prototypical underachievers.

Yeah I was kind of half watching the Chargers/Jets game while streaming Washington Carolina and was pissed Rivers wasn't getting me any fantasy points but was glad to see them winning.... then they played the second half. OY!

While I won't get to excited over the win against St. Louis I will get excited over the marked improvement in all aspects of the defense, just an unbelievable turn around from last year.  I've never seen a Cowboys team create so many turnovers.  The running game exploded but they exploded against the worst rushing defense in the league. I'm hoping this solidifies the decision to trade Tashard Choice. I wasn't real high on DeMarco Murray being drafted but the more I read and saw of him in training camp and preseason I got real excited real quick. More so about Phillip Tanner, that kid runs like AP but not quite as much power. I am VERY anxious to see what our discovered running game and full compliment of healthy offensive and defensive players can do against Philly the Sunday night. If the Bills can deal the skins a nice fat loss and the Dolphins can some how find a way to pull a win out over the Giants, also with us staying consistent against Philly I will be in a VERY VERY good mood Monday morning.

Tomlinson / A.J. Smith Feud (ESPN - First Take)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgU2hiOwjtQ

LT is just stating fact. We all know that something is bothering Rivers this year. He doesn't look or play like the Philip Rivers of old and this season he has been horrible, in spite of us being in 1st place (3-way tie mind you). I don't have a problem with LT saying what he said. I do have a problem with AJ Smith. The guy is a joke and he is a problem that Dean Spanos needs to address this now...or in the off season. But we have been calling for his head for years and nothing gets done. So, the problems will still persist with this team and we will never get over that hump. What that "hump" is, that's something new each week with this team.

Not only was that the best opening series for the Chargers, but it was the best series all season long. If we can play like THAT, we'd have the Super Bowl already won. I hope we can keep it rolling like that for the rest of the game and the rest of the season. I've been super preoccupied all week long that I didn't even realize how many of how big hitters are sitting on the bench with injuries today.

Chargers 7
Packers 0

I thought I'd never say this, but with Philip Rivers throwing his NFL leading 12th Interception just now, he is officially a liability to the team.

Fuuuuck!!!

What I find amazing is that Rivers is considered one of the "Elite" qbs in the league but when he continually blows games for his team no one spends all week long analyzing and micro dissecting whats wrong with him. However when Romo does it it is discussed to the umpteenth degree.

Chargers Vs Faiders tonight. I couldn't be more uninterested in a game than I am right now. I don't even know if it's gonna be shown locally. I keep hearing that it's blackout in the San Diego market. Why do I care if I'm so uninterested? Being a fan of the Chargers is like domestic abuse...I keep going back for more abuse, in spite logic telling me to walk away.

Glutton for punishment.

Probably blacked out because its on the NFL Network.

The Chargers look really really tentative in the passing game. Rivers needs to just F ucking let it rip.

They are actually showing it on FOX, which is a huge shock for me. So, I look at this as a freebie. And yes, Rivers is gun shy. He might as well just start playing with reckless abandon. It's not like it's gonna be anything different from what he has done before. Only this time, he won't care. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_wink.gif)

Doesn't matter. Our secondary is a phucking joke. Our D-Line is horrible. And worst of all is out O-Line. How can we expect Rivers to really do anything when he doesn't have pass protection?

Gawd! I hate this game. I hate the Raiders. I hate AJ Smith. Who else am I forgetting?

That goes without saying. Also on that list is Ed Hochuli. That was a bullsh*t reversal taking away Brown's second TD. BULLSH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_mad.gif)

But we got it back with Jacob Hester getting the score. But this is just what it's like being a Chargers fan, constantly having to fight against the Refs. Always an uphill battle.

I don't know if I have it in me to watch another Chargers game this season. It will be a game time decision of course.

This is the worst abusive relationship I've ever been in. And I won't even mention my relationship with the Padres. Wait, I think I just did.

Chargers STILL suck! We may be leading at halftime 10-7 over the Broncos, but we have looked like sh*t getting there. If the Broncos had stuck to the run for the most part, they would be demolishing us right now as our Run defense is a joke. The play calling for us is pathetic. Why Norv is still coaching for us is beyond me. Why I'm stilling watching this game and this team is an even bigger mystery.

The Chargers win their first game in 2 months and now the talk turns to "winning the division". Oh brother. Am I the only one that sees we beat a 3-7 team? I wasn't impressed with our win last night at all. We sill looked like garbage, although with the addition of a couple of new players on our offensive line, we finally gave Rivers some protection.

I just think it's a bit premature to be talking about taking the division. Too many things have to happen with other teams before we are in the neighborhood of even qualifying for a Wild Card spot let alone taking the AFC West.

Rivers is getting hot and consistent at just the right time...... for my fantasy team! Touchdowns, yards and no PICKS! Thats the Rivers I know and love!

I know the 4 teams in the AFC west but I couldn't tell you there records against each other. I could however tell you that Jason Campbell being out of the line up for the Raiders was a blessing for them. I don't see any situation where Norv Turner returns as HC in San Diego. The Chargers should be drawing up Jeff Fischers contract right now.

You just uttered the words every San Diegan has said for the last 4 years. Easier said than done apparently. AJ Smith just does not like to admit defeat and failure by his own hands.

Well really in the last 4 years who has been available. Every team who feels a HC change needs to be made always says Gruden or Cowher. Theres several complications there but they usually stop asking for those 2 when I tell them there's never been a SB winning coach that has gone to another team and won another SB. Also he was with the Steelers 16 years and got to the SB twice and only won 1. Gruden just recently signed a 5 year deal with ESPN for MNF duties. Jeff Fischer I think could really do some good out there, San Diego has a very strong foundation and I'm sure he doesn't want to go through a rebuilding process. I say if Norv goes JF is in.

Chargers overall look really good tonight. It's half time and we lead 17-7. If we can score on our opening drive in the 3rd quarter, it can only help us dictate the pace for the second half.

We got some much needed help today too with the Patriots blowing out the Donkey's and the miracle from the Lions to score the winning TD against the Faiders with 39 seconds left in the game. I'm glad for the opportunity we are getting here, but it would be nice to have had won the AFC West outright because this scoreboard watching is only going to give me ulcers.

Chargers score the opening drive. Take 24-7 lead. That was a great drive, but what's really impressive to me is that all of our scoring drives have basically started from our own 20 yard line and we are marching down the field with little resistance. Me like. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_smile.gif)

I'm not even sure what to think about the Ravens. They sweep the Squeelers and have complete and utter control of the division and then get smoked by the Jags and then embarrassed ... EMBARRASSED tonight. I mean the Chargers couldn't have put together a better game plan if they had gon into the future, watched the game, come back and played it.

Agreed. This is by far one of the best games they have played not only this season, but in the last 3 seasons. I was just scratching my head in how a team that looked as bad as we did in the 6 game losing streak could put it together in all phases of the game tonight in such a way to as you put it... embarrassed them. All it really took for us to get out sh*t together was dropping in two new players in the OL. Suddenly Rivers has an Offensive Line that is giving him time to make his reads. 3-0 in the last 3 games with no picks. If we had only made these moves earlier, we might not be in the precarious situation of needing help from other teams to get to the Playoffs.

LT was on local radio station and he hinted at the prospect of his return to the Chargers. Not sure what the legitimacy is regarding this. Some have speculated that it would be a 1 day contract for him to retire as a Charger and others are saying he is a legitmate replacement for Mike Tolbert who seems to be on his way out the door.

I like Tolbert and want him to stay as a Charger. I also like the idea of bringing back LT to kind of fill in the role that Sproles did on 3rd downs. LT hopefully knows that he isn't a starter or an every down back anymore and he will have to agree to this before this becomes a reality. Sure, I'd like to see him return, but it's doubtful with his #1 nemesis AJ Smith still calling the shots.

The only way I can see AJ agreeing to bring him back is to give the fans something to chew on and get their minds off of the fact that he and Norv are still around. It would be a PR move more than anything.

LT wouldn't be a legitimate replacement for anyone unless it was a role exactly like he has had with the Jets. I think his time has come and like Emmit did with the Cowboys should take a 1 day $1 contract and retire  as a member of the team he will be most remember fore playing with. I always felt his time with the Jets has somewhat tarnished his career.

I guess I really don't know what to think of Chargers ownership and why they continue to cling to Smith and Turner. I guess its much like Jerry Jones thinking hes the best GM for the Cowboys.
