I'm glad I waited for the huge drop in the price for this set. This was not nearly as good as I remembered it to be. Granted, I haven't seen this since it went off the air back in 1990. Definitely not worth the retail price it originally sold for. As for the show, the first two seasons were good, even with some really bad jokes in Garry's opening monologue. Season 3 was kind of a train wreck for the first half and basically a different show once it started doing location scenes instead of being "filmed before a live audience". Season 4 was the most drastic change for the series, having Garry getting a girlfriend and then subsequently getting married.
The original cast more or less got shoved into a corner to accomodate his new love interest, to the detriment of the show. The final 2 episodes were horrible and the worst for the entire series. Even with all the negativity I seem to be dishing out here, there are a handful of good, funny episodes that I can easily go back to watching over and over. But as a whole, I am somewhat disappointed with the series.
This is definitely a Rent. In hindsight, I wouldn't Buy it.
