Don't be coming to The Fast and the Furious for anything insightful or deep. It's about cars and a sting operation to take down a Street Racing Gang that is pulling off heist on rigs carrying valuable cargo. This is all style and not a whole lot of substance. I don't mind films like this. Sometimes I just need to check my brain at the door and veg out with a mindless popcorn flick. Visually this is a pretty decent movie with some gnarly stunt driving during the heist scenes. But that's it. The characters, although engaging are pretty flat when it comes to any kind of depth. It's still a fun movie to kill some time with. But I gotta say that the last 15 minutes of the film is just ridiculous from a logical standpoint of what the characters say and do.

Even though I own this on DVD, I wouldn't say it's anything more than a Rent.

Definitely a guilty pleasure for me. I'm in the process of finding all of these for cheap so I can put them in anytime. Even Tokyo Drift which completely jumps the rails of characters is fun. 5 was so successful and rightly so, they are into 6 already. Just mindless testosterone fun.

I am still kicking myself because I know I saw the 4 Pack (http://www.amazon.com/Fast-Furious-4-Movie-Collection-Diesel/dp/B002AT4K8M) in Walmart a year or two ago for like $10-$12. Now the som**** is hard to find and cost a fortune.
