WTF... a PowerPoint presentation? How do you introduce a new product with PowerPoint. You DON'T. You demo the product.

Apple's iPad 3 Review (Attack Of The Show)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SXGVGxnVGc

Steve Jobs (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/books/steve-jobs-walter-isaacson/msg5529/#msg5529) would be LIVID with all the negativity with this product. But then again, I'm sure he would have had all the issues worked out before it ever reached mass market.

They weren't to bad on it. Just some critical comments. All in all, some good stuff. Most people who own 2 wouldn't feel the need to upgrade.

Was referring to the overheating problem that the iPad 3 is getting beat up for in other reviews and not particularly the last post.

It's amazing the buzz Apple gets of late. Well, it seems that way to me. Since I don't invest in Apple, the stock news means little to me. I just want to see Apple continue to innovate. That breeds competition and more innovation.

iCade | iPad Arcade Cabinet Review (Totally Rad Show)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCYw98tPqfI

I watched this back a month or so ago and I forgot to post. I was going to post in the Video Game (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/video-games/) section, but since this is geared strictly for the iPad, it's found a home here. Anyway, if I ever do get an iPad, I will definitely get the iCade. No doubt about it. Looks really cool and brings back a lot of memories for me in its retro facade. Me likey.

They're gonna be catching up to what... 3 years of Ipad penetration. Also still looking like a wannabe.

And remember, one of the key things about the Ipad are the Apps and the App store. If Microsoft can tackle and improve that, then let's talk... maybe.

Yeah, they are too far behind to make an immediate dent. The only option would be to have a very cheap entry price point because right now, if they are both priced the same, the iPad will easily take the trophy based on name recognition alone.

The iPad Is Three Years Old Today – Let's Now Stand In Awe Of How It Has Changed The World

Quote
Three years ago today, on January 27, 2010, Steve Jobs stood on a stage in San Francisco.

First he talked about how Apple invented the modern laptop in 1991 and revolutionized the smartphone with the iPhone in 2007.

Then he asked: "Is there room for a third category of device in the middle? Something that's between a laptop and a smartphone?"

After trashing an existing category of devices – the netbook – Jobs's tone of voice changed. It grew hushed and fervent.

And then he said: "We think we've got something that is. We'd like to show it to you today for the first time. And we call it…the iPad."

The world hasn't been the same since.

Never owned, let alone played with an iPad. I've yet to be changed.

Depends on your needs... And wants. It is liberating for me not have to go up to the 2nd floor to my office. To carry this around just about anywhere is so freeing.

I get the practical use of freedom which is really the only selling point for me. I just haven't really found an ideal use for getting one though because I'm pretty much glued to working from home.

I played with one a little bit.  It was cute.  But honestly, it IS a toy, it's to be enjoyed.  I usually work with my tech, scanning or filing or drawing or that sort of thing.  If I want to watch movies, I have a much better selection on my Laptop, and that screen stays up on its own.

What we need to be sold on, I think, is all the stuff the iPad can do that the regular computer can't.  The iPad is for when you don't have your computer with you, but I think we're all guys who always have their laptops with them... or are capable of restraining by techno-urges while I'm out in public and meant to do things.

I remember the first Comic-Con I went to after the iPad came out and people were using them at their tables to show off their artwork, that was kinda cool, the colours were more vibrant and they could show many more things.  That kind of use, but it'd need a couple dozen more to make it worth my interest.

I suggest you go to an Apple Store or Best Buy, or some place where you can do a hands on comparison. Get a feel.

I had some idea of what I was thinking it would be like and when I picked it up, it felt right. The size especially. I am not interested in anything smaller. I'm getting older and my vision is not like it used to be.

I would like something lighter. Despite getting a really good case that allows it to sit up on it's own, many a times I am holding it flat with just my hands and given enough time, it does become weighty.

I honestly don't know where they are at in models now. I have an iPad 2. I think they have newer models. Same size? Lighter perhaps.

But until this one craps out on me, I'm very pleased with it and use it every day.

My son swears by the androids, but then again, if you remember, he told me to avoid these tablets and iPad thingies... They are just fads.  >:(
He has since bought a small tablet.  ;)

That being said, Apple does not fluctuate with pricing. You don't see them go on sale. I haven't. I just happened to be in a Best Buy, one day sale, unadvertised for $50 off. But the price of the case brought the total back up.

Good luck. Go put one in your hands and spend some time with it.

I'll try to get out to Best Buy sometime this week. I think they closed the only Apple Store we had. Haven't been in one in years. Will check what Best Buy has to offer, hands on that is and then find a model I like and probably hit NewEgg and other outlets for the best deals. I won't buy from BB because they inflate the hell out of the price and then when it's on sale, it's still above market value.

Best Buy now is honoring the competitive price. If you can prove by a legitimate company and price, they will match it. I could care less about the company, but this move has allowed me to actually consider Best Buy as a purchase shop. This is all we really have for electronics.

We have HHGregg, but that's a crap store. I went in once and have no desire ever to go back.

And with things like an iPad, I'll bet they are staying spot on price wise. They can't afford to pull crap over the consumer on that product.

Just a guess though.
