Really cool to see that TMS is expanding the guest list to include drummers this season and who better to have kick things off than the one and only Mike Portnoy. Lars seemed to be enjoying Mike's drumming more than anyone else in attendance and it was especially cool to see Mike lay down some Metallica beats. From what I remember, it sounded like One. Lars was Lars when it came to his interview. You know what you're gonna get here and there's nothing wrong with that. But I think Robb Flynn was the best on the panel as he was more energetic and had lots to say.
As always, Jen was smoking HOT! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_drool.gif)

I liked the episode too...Lars was cool and like you said, seemed genuinely impressed by Mike's drumming...."and he's probably doing it was a single bass drum" I think was the exact quote that really stayed with me...must be really cool to have Lars be impressed with your playing...what that translates too beyond some nice words...not really sure.
don't really know the other guys band very well....never been a fan...would I check them out...yeah probably...have I....barely if any/.
Machine head always felt to me, just based on time period like a lot of the grindcore sort of thrash stuff that came out...prong, man I can't even remember all the different band names...none of it was that interesting to me.
good episode...would I watch it again....eh...probably not.
I'd go 3 out of 5.

Yeah, I remember Lars saying "and he did it all on one bass drum" which is pretty f u c k i n g insane if you think about it. You can't help be impressed with that man's ability to do s h i t like that. Unreal, man!!

Episode 2: Alice Cooper & Jack Russell (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_04star.gif)
Okay, I will go on record and say that no one will top Brian for best Guest Drummer for Season 10. That was just awesome s h i t he displayed. He's a great drummer and a hell of a showman to incorporate a Speed Bag into his arsenal. The other thing, although not entirely original, the dude can play with his bare hands and doesn't suck at it because he plays with just force whereas other's favor their hands so as not to hurt them.
Anytime you get Alice Cooper on your show, you are going to have a lot of cool s h i t to talk about and this was no exception. Just listen to him tell his story about the time he met Elvis Presley and you will come away liking the dude even more. Great storyteller. Jack Russell had some very interesting things to say. I was unaware that there are now 2 different version of Great White. First the Beach Boys, then LA Guns, now we have to go through the same s h i t with Great White? Ugh.

Episode 3: George Lynch, Jeff Pilson and Mick Brown (T&N) (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_03star.gif)
This episode was kind of a train wreck. Normally TMS brings out one guest and they get time to talk about what it is they want to talk about. But in this one they bring out not one, not two, but all three people that make up T&N. What we are left with is everyone on the panel stepping on each other's toes to get a word in edge wise, which made for a cluster f u c k of epic proportions. I like the guys and love their music (Dokken), but I certainly didn't enjoy the interview style that went down. Too much going on and nothing really note worthy was said.
Having said that. What the hell is T&N? That's about the dumbest name for a band ever. They should call themselve Y&T: Youth & Tails and have a Giant Robot as their mascot. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_wink.gif)

I have very little respect for that band.
I mean they make it very easy to be critical of them.
they seem to lie, and basically are quick to blame others for their own flaws.
George should stick to tanning.
He's actually just like another famous George. George Hamilton who's also know for one main thing. A ridiculous tan.
pass...I won't go back to watch the last half of this one....unless they update it with another band.

Even though George was backing saying he didn't say there was an impending reunion with Dokken, I think he is full of s h i t. They both went on the show with the intent to announce it, or imply there would be. Why else would they be on stage together after so many years apart? To say they are friends? Yeah, right.

they are clowns....all the past "the record label made us do it" fell short , and they still show now they are dumb asses.....I have a tiny bit more respect for Don, although I am sure the guy is a prima donna pain in the ass. I get the feeling they don't think anything through. and it comes back to bite them on the ass again and again.
they are pretty boys that had some talent...and got some luck in a time when labels would sign anyone with a little talent, and more look....but their time is well past...and for TMS I want more and better...they could have squeezed 3 bands in for that episode...done Ratt, Warrant, and Dokken.....I would have been just as interested and glad at the end it was over.
:)
on to bigger and better things...or guests...

Episode 4: Adrian Smith (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
Unlike last week's (or should I say 'weak') self indulgent episode, this one was a great episode from start to finish with Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden fame. The episode here is exactly why I tune into the show in the first place. Adrian was entertaining, informative and knew how to carry a conversation. You don't even have to be a fan of Iron Maiden to even enjoy this one at all. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the band unlike some of my friends who are h a r d c o r e with them. My only exposure to Maiden over the years has been their videos, long form videos, Full Concerts and Documentaries that always air on VH1 Classic.
While watching this episode and listening to Adrian talk, I had a flashback and remembered that I in fact did have my own brush with Maiden back in High School when a friend of mine swapped albums with me for a week. I gave him like 3-4 KISS albums to check out and he gave me The Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind. Although I remember thinking both albums were pretty good, I just wasn't gaga over them because I was way into KISS at the time that I really didn't open myself up to "new" bands even though the albums I got at the time were a few years old already.
As much as I rag on Eddie, which I do a lot these days. This episode did produce a pretty touching moment when Michael gave him one of his guitars to keep, which was really cool. And to answer your question Eddie, 'yes, you are one lucky son of a b i t c h '.
FYI, this episode is the front-runner for Episode Of The Year. I can definitely see myself watching this one again real soon.

I forgot to mention in my review about Michael. He played great, like he always does. But I haven't seen him in a long ass time and I was alarmed at how skinny and sickly he looked. He didn't look healthy at all.

awesome episode I am right there with you...I could watch a season with 25 episodes when it's this good...I know it's not always that easy to get good guests....but I thought from front to back this one was a lot of fun to watch....the top 5 probably should have been focused on Bruce albums.....the two early ones with Paul Included almost cut it off at the knees...but it's impossible almost to be a Maiden fan and NOT include those in the top 5...because they are that good....
Michael Schenker I thought was very tasty as the guest guitarist...and he didn't even have a PUNCHING bag!! He looks **** great too...the guy has got to be 63 and he practically looks like a 16 year old playing the guitar...it's crazy....he gave Trunk that guitar which was a really nice little moment.....
Adrian was an awesome guest....and yeah man...just a solid solid episode...and I would actually watch this one again.....seasons back there were way more episodes I felt that way about. (many I'd watch 2 times back to back...because for whatever reason VH-1 classic runs the show from 10-11 and then again from 11-12)..the last 2 seasons not so many of the shows I'd ever watch again....)..but this I'd peep a few more times for sure.
it even inspired me to have a Michale Schenker day today!! so it's coffee and then some MSG or UFO.
:)
I give it 5 stars...and 1 boner. miss box of trunk looked extra hot in that tank top

Well, for me, this video shows what I call the definitive Schenker-look and the one I associate with him most. Here he looks like the bad ass Rockstar that he is. On TMS, he does not look healthy. Maybe I just have a different definition of "healthy".

since when has being a rock guitar god and being healthy looking been synonymous?
it's a stick thin build with the guitar consuming your body...you eat rock and roll. not pizza.
:)
Ace Frehley in his prime, Jimmy Page in his prime....these weren't chubby dudes who people idolized....we wanted our legends of rock lean and thin...there's a saying that I actually do think has more deeper meaning than what's a face value.
'young and hungry' or 'hungry and driven'....your body size also relates to that....fat and satisfied....think about it.
:)
ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Schenker (Guitar For The Practicing Musician)
It took me a while to find a decent shot of this cover. It's actually one of my all time favorite covers from Guitar For The Practicing Musician. Yep, I still have my copy in storage. I remember the day I bought it at Guitar Trader like it was 5 minutes ago. What was cool about that moment is that this particular issue came out 2 weeks before anyone else. Guitar Trader FTW!!! Hell man, it had Into The Arena, Suicide Solution, Life In The Fast Lane and Roxanne. Usually it was a song and maybe a 2nd one that was worthy. But NEVER 4 songs in the same mag!!!!

GFTPM, was a cool magazine no doubt....they really covered it all as best as any mainstream guitar magazine could ever do.
I loved it and had a subscription for at least 3-4 years...and I bought quite a few right off the shelves....maybe even 6 years I had a subscription.
nothing better than coming home and seeing that in the mail.....I miss those days.
although I am going to subscribe to Guitar World any time now...it's basically $15 for a year and $24 for 2....you basically get 10 magazines a year for free since the cover price is $7.99
I think totally worth it.

This episode was crippled by Eddie, once again by his excessive whining. Only this time it was so over the top that I had to physically walk out of the room. I don't understand his mindset at all. He is getting paid to host a show on VH1 Classic called That Metal Show. But he spends about 40 out of 45 minutes just whining. It's too much and he looks like a fool when doing it and is giving the metal community a bad name because of it. If anyone that had never seen the show were to tune in and see one of his tantrums, their first reaction would be something like "Oh, he listens to metal. I guess they all whine like that".
Hey Eddie. Shut the f u c k up! I seriously hope that next season they hand over the hosting duties to Don and Jim. They have fun and know more about Metal than Eddie could ever "write" about.
As for the rest of the episode. It was just okay. Nothing special and kind of weak in most spots. I would say it was a 3 Star episode at best. But Eddie's antics dropped it to 1 Star. Way to go. I'm seriously thinking about quitting TMS. I can't take it anymore. It's gotten way out of control.

Title: Re: That Metal Show (Season 10)
Post by: Chiprocks1 on May 05, 2012, 05:53:04 am
Lemmy has always been like that in every interview I've seen him in. I don't fault him, it's just his demeanor and how he carries himself. I didn't really have an issiue with him because I knew what to expect before going into the episode. But I think the gang just totally f u c k e d themselves over by turning the episode over to the audience to ask him questions. When has this ever been successful? 100% of the time they are going to ask not only dumb questions, but ask the same questions that's been asked a million times before. I knew that first chick was going to ask "why do you have the mic stand this way"? Ugh. You know who Lemmy is, but you don't know why he sets it up that way?
Whatever.
Just really disappointed that Don, Jim and VH1 Classic continue to let Eddie act the way that he does on air.

yeah the audience question thing was a bad idea...you hit the nail on the head there.....I am surprised they didn't ask where he got the name Motorhead (which alludes to a speed freak) or any of the other lame brain questions that have been asked again and again.
oh well...new one tonight....can't even remember who's on it...might be Michael Schenker as the guest.....he's not going to be much of an interview I am afraid...although I could be wrong...he's not very outgoing without a guitar in his hands...as far as I've ever seen....he's more the type that will sit there and smile....he's not a dumb guy...I just think he's not super talkative....we'll get some basic facts on what he's up to right now...and that will be about it.
Title: Re: That Metal Show (Season 10)
Post by: Chiprocks1 on May 05, 2012, 10:50:54 am
The only interviews I can recall with Michael was back in the late 80's, early 90's with Robin McAuley and Robin was doing all the talking with the occasional laugh or quip by Michael. I certainly have never seen him go solo in an interview. So, if he is in fact the lone guest, it may turn into a train wreck. I see it actually going down the same road as Uli Jon Roth, which was a bad interview for lots of reasons. First and foremost, I blame Eddie (duh) for asking way too many yes and no questions (as I remember it) and basically kissing his ass for the duration of the interview which basically steered Roth into a certain type of response. He may be a great interviewee elsewhere, but on that night it was painful to watch. I'm beating a dead horse here, but Eddie just is not a good interviewer at all. He just lucked out to become friends with a lot of Rock Stars and for some reason he equates that as being validation in that he knows what he is doing. He doesn't.
I say have Michael sit in on the panel with his guitar, have only Don and Jim ask him questions and then let Michael play a lick or a riff to answer said question. At any time during the show, when Eddie starts to whine, that's a cue for Michael to take his guitar and smash it over Eddie's head. Do it enough times throughout the show and even Eddie will learn not to do that anymore, just like Pavlov's dog.
P.S.
I know Eddie and the gang are reading this (since I left a link to this thread over at TMS) and it wouldn't faze me one bit that they talk s h i t about me on the air next season. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_biggrin.gif)

I think Eddie will kiss Michael's ass big time....and like you said, lead him with answers as he did UJR.
One thing I can say....is (and this is based on Eddie's OWN words)
I've actually been a Schenker / UFO fan for LONGER than him...based on what he said and when he got into them
he might know all the album names...but he's got a long way to go to really understand the band....he doesn't realize it though, that's the funny thing.

Episode 6: Michael Schenker & Mike McCready (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
This episode was f u c k i n g awesome! Even with Eddie's weekly whine-fest in full effect, he couldn't wreck this one. Kinda. More on that later. Let's get right into what did make this a kick ass episode. First off....Frank Hannon. He was f u c k i n g incredible. I think I may have to retract what I said earlier about a previous guitar player being the best this season. I think for me personally, Frank had the best "Set" of any player in the last couple of years, along with John 5. In this one, Frank's tone was SICK!!! On top of squeezing out an amazing sound, he was playing crunchy riffs and power cords so that everyone, myself included could feel the punch to the gut.
Onto Michael Schenker. Since I've never really seen a one on one interview with him, he surprised me big time in how articulate he was and he had plenty to say, so much so that he kinda hijacked the panel because he was on a roll and had plenty to dish out. His stories were fun and insightful. Moving on to Mike McCready. Ever since TMS started, I always wondered of anyone from Pearl Jam would show up. I honestly never thought anyone would given that stigma of Grunge killing off Metal in the mid 90's.
Well, Mike McCready stopped by and the adulation he has for Schenker is obvious and pretty damn cool to see. Eddie may say he is his "biggest fan", but in just the few minutes that McCready spoke of and to Schenker was more sincere than 10 episodes of Eddie going on and on about UFO........Sometimes I get the feeling that Eddie just says stuff on air so that people will just look at him. He gushes a lot about certain people and he never comes across as being sincere, at least that's how I see it. I'm not saying he's not a fan, just sayin' that telling people every 5 minutes means nothing when there is no sincerity behind it.
Which leads me to my new segment that I like to call: How Bad Was Eddie On Tonight's Episode Of That Metal Show? Well, it wouldn't be a TMS unless we got some Whine with that plate full of Cheese. My rating will reflect accordingly. The more he whines, the less stars he gets. If he can go a full hour without whining, he will receive a perfect rating. For this episode he gets.....

I'll post my thoughts before I read yours...I saw you gave it 5 stars....
a little surprised to be honest.
as you know I am a big Michael Schenker fan and have been for about 28 years....the pedestal Eddie puts him on is really silly....maybe because he's (Schenker) is under rated in many ways...and will never be mentioned in the circles of Ritchie Blackmoore, Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, or even someone like Brian May....he's more known as maybe a Gary Moore level player...if you are really into guitar or the history of rock...sure you'll find Michael's impact on a lot of player.s...just like you will with Uli John Roth.
But I mean even as huge Michael Schenker a fan...I was uncomfortable with how Eddie treated Mike McCready (even placing him in the second seat for his interview segment) who's band Pearl Jam (whom I am not a fan of) has done 3 times what Schenker has done...and has probably sold 10 times the amount of albums....he was a good sport and I thought was fun to listen to talk...he had more to share and Eddie neglected that fact...I really don't feel like Michael would have minded a few minutes NOT totally focused on him. McCready's health problems were a surprise to me...and I hope he stays healthy...he's lucky because he has the funds at least to get the best care to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
so to focus so heavily on MS for the full hour seemed like overkill....and lets face it...it really was ALL about Eddie NOT Schenker. I am 100% serious about that. It was about Eddie being the BIGGEST fan.
I did like the episode and thought Michael looked great and talked about a lot of cool stuff...I didn't realize that he was younger than Rudolph / No internet when we were kids...so I never knew his age or relationship with Rudolph other than they were brothers and had crisscrossed in bands before......would have loved to see him play a little guitar....the guest guitarist was ok....he seems like maybe he's had some health problems or something...he's very heavy handed on the guitar and I felt like his in's and out for the ads weren't all that interesting....seemed like a cool guy so I am not going to really go off...it's maybe not his thing to just wing a short riff that might be fun to listen to.
I could give two ****s about the list most times....and I think even stump the trunk is getting kind of old.
I will say they do help keep the show varied...and I agree with you...the deeper into episodes the show gets the more Don and Jim are shinning and Eddie is getting old.
I'd give it a 3...since you gave it a 5...I'll go 4....I love Mike but felt Eddie made it a little uncomfortable.
he could have celebrated the music more, than really just verbally gushing chewing up precious time during the segments.

I did love the guest guitarists tone...I will say that.
and I was pulling for him to play hotter and hotter licks....it was tasty but man John5 set the bar really ****ing high.
and YEAH...we both figured Eddie out
it's about him
God Bless you Mr Chiprocks....we both nailed this phoney!

As for Frank, I think the reason I thought he had a Set that I approved of is because it wasn't your typical "shred-fest" that most are intent on displaying on TMS. Sure, Frank wasn't ripping like you'd get from a dime-a-dozen at Guitar Center. That's boring if that's all you can do. Give me some Meat and Potatoes that packs a wallop. And yes, John 5 did set the bar extremely high and is still the standard by which all will be compared to. The thing about John is that his playing is so varied in that you never fell like he is repeating himself, while the majority of the other players that are on TMS are doing the same thing in each commercial break. Looking at you Phil Collen and George Lynch!!
I think Frank knew this and decided to take a different approach and give something that people (myself included) some toe tapping, head banging riffs and that's why to me he succeeded. I stand behind him 100%.
I forgot to mention that snub that you pointed out regarding the seating arrangement. You nailed it there and when it played out the first time I watched the episode I was like "You've got to be kidding me"?! I thought it was extremely insulting to McCready. Nothing against Michael here at all as he is just the guest and had nothing to do with it. I'd say the same thing if Gene Simmons or Paul Stanley were to ever make their way to TMS. My bone of contention is that TMS have set a certain precedence with how things are done on the show and to suddenly deviate from that is a slap in the face to whoever gets bumped. McCready may have been a good sport about it, but I am not, and it's another reason why I feel it's time for Eddie to be shown the door. He doesn't bring anything to TMS if you really think about it.
Funny that you mentioned Stump The Trunk because when I was watching it last night, the same thought kept popping into my head "Why is this segment so important to the show"? It's not. It's nothing more than trying to once again make it about him and the funny thing is, he fails at it about 85% of the time. Get rid of the segment and you cut down half the episode of his whining which is a good thing. It won't happen though. I'm referring to them cutting it and to his whining.

Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention in original review of the episode was to mention how f u c k i n g shameless Eddie was when McCready half jokingly said that if and when Pearl Jam is nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame that he would refuse induction until KISS is let in through it's doors. I think McCready was kind of making a lighthearted joke at the expense of Eddie. It was simply a way for McCready to say to him, "See, I am a fan of TMS and DO watch it and know what's being talked about on the show".
So what does Eddie decide to do instead of laughing about it? He decides to hold McCready to it and that he SHOULDN'T let the RARHOF get away with it and to get everyone else in the band on board with the idea. How f u c k i n g disrespectful is this idiot Trunk going to get? Look, the Hall may in fact be a joke, but who is Eddie to dictate what other nominees do regarding their own enshrinement? Eddie may have issues with the Hall, but has he ever thought about what it means to other people that are getting voted in? Maybe to McCready it is a BIG deal and would give his career a nice cherry on top. But immediately, Eddie was making it about HIM and what better way to do that than being the "man who brought down the RARHOF by convincing Pearl Jam not to accept".
His ego would be so out of control if he pulled that off because they would be running this story into the ground on CNN, MTV, VH1, etc....Look, I agree that the Hall is a joke and that KISS and other bands deserve to go in and should be in now, long before Pearl Jam. But unlike "Mr. Super Fan" here, I would NEVER ask another person to forego something that they may actually want to participate in. Even if McCready doesn't care about the induction into the Hall, don't assume that he does because it makes you look like an ass, "Mr. Super Fan".

Episode 7: The Cult & Doro Pesch (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_03halfstar.gif)
Not sure what the deal is what the episode that was hosted online. What I saw was an episode that didn't have the typical opening with the TMS Top 5. I have no idea of this was cut out from the broadcast version on VH1 Classic or just the online version. Total run time for the episode was just over 33 minutes. Broadcast would be 45 minutes without the commercials.
Okay, with that out of the way, onto what I did see. I will give the boys props for getting an interesting panel together for this one with The Cult. Both Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are both well-spoken and had plenty to say and were good sports about the TMS Vault segment when they showed classic Cult in all their blown-dry-feather-hair glory. Haha. I had forgotten how long their hair use to be. Crazy.
The other interesting guest to the mix was Doro Pesch, who I have not seen or heard from since the late 80's, early 90's. She looks really good for her age. It's like she has been kept on ice all these years. Hasn't aged at all. As for her interview, it wasn't spectacular. Not her fault as I think she was just overwhelmed being on the set. This is the most screen-time she has seen on American soil in over 25 years. So I give her a past for appearing to be a deer-in-headlights. Still great to see her though. Also stopping by was "DJ" Ashba. After that Axl Rose interview from last season, I was beginning to wonder if he was in fact mute. He's not. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/new_tongue.gif)
The Throwdown: Which institution is more clueless? The Grammy's or the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? Winner is....who cares!!!!!. They both suck, so who cares. Stupid Throwdown topic if you ask me. When they were coming up with this episodes throwdown, Eddie told everyone else in the greenroom that he wanted to just run his mouth and appear to know stuff and to make it the topic they settled on.
Not as much whining from Eddie and that's only because the TMS Top 5 was cut out. But listening to him talk about the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame is fast becoming a drinking game. If I drank as much as he claims to know about the institution, I'd already be dead from liver poison. So, he gets....

I didn't want to read yours before I posted...short on time, but I liked the episode...I thought the guitar playing in and out of the ads was AWESOME this week.....felt like a solid show....I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5...not a huge Cult fan...they are good and that female guest was cool...I like her KISS cover although it's sometimes hard to find on youtube.

ah bummer you missed a pretty good top 5 / Tom Morello came out and the category was most iconic Black Sabbath riffs.
wow bummer you didn't see that.....
for sure added a nice dimension to show which was why I said it felt like a solid show....everything was in place/ and each segment was well done and satisfying

F u c k !
I was just about to ask if you saw the Top 5 on VH1 Classic. Everyone over at the TMS Forum is b i t c h i n g about it being cut out from the one they are hosting. Hopefully they can get their s h i t together and put it back in sometime this week so I can check it out.

it was a fairly long top 5 too...they gave them a good chunk of time and I won't say more.
some of the old TMS on the VH1 classic site were chopped down when I'd gone to watch old episodes...weird they'd do it to a new one though.
especially when Tom Morello was on it.

Last season, one of the early episodes, 2 days after it originally aired, when I went to watch it the last segment opened the show and went completely backwards. So when I got to the end of the 45 minutes, the TMS gang was doing it's intro and who was set to appear on the show and then Jim says "It's That Metal Show next".....Fade to black. Talk about a f u ck e d up viewing experience. I'm thinking the latest episode is suffering from the same "technically difficulties".

Seriously, who 'okays' the segments on the show? It's called That Metal Show for a reason, which has nothing to do with the Grammy's or the Hall. Debate singers, bands, guitar players and albums, anything that ties directly into Metal and / or Rock music. But don't discuss topics that NO ONE in the community gives a flying f u c k about. Another 10 minutes wasted on a pointless topic.

A blast from the past. The song is a bit cliched and corny with the chorus, but typical for coming up with sing along anthems. They played this one more than any other's of Dora's on Headbanger's Ball. I always thought of her is the female version of Dio because of her small size, but big voice.

Doro and Lemmy Kilmister - Love Me Forever (Live 2003 HD)
I was shocked to see that Stevens was on the show. No disrespect to Michael Schenker, but it's become somewhat of a running joke at how many times he has appeared in episodes this season, so I really thought he would be the one to close out Season 10. As for Steve, it was cool that he was on the show, and he did his thing that we all love. But I still say that the man to be topped is John 5.
As for the rest of the episode, on paper the combo of Vinnie Paul and Styx looks to be a weird pairing, especially when it comes to sitting in on the panel and discussing music. So how did it pan out? Surprisingly well. Vinnie was Vinnie. You know he will be the life of the party and always have cool stories to tell and just be a happy, cool dude. James Young surprised me in taking over the panel. He was very informative and had a lot to say. Tommy Shaw on the other hand was quieter than I'd expect. I thought he would have plenty to say and he really didn't.
Overall, this was a very good episode. Very entertaining with a couple of walk-on's during the Stump The Trunk. Jason McMaster from Dangerous Toys and Leeann Tweeden, who I haven't seen since her days on Best Damn Sports Show Period. Damn, I had such a HUGE crush on her back in the day. Really cool to hear that she is a Metal Head. Jennifer now has some competition.
Eddie almost made it the entire show without whining. Almost. He gets....

I really liked this episode too...I think 4 out of 5 was a perfect score...the content was solid and fun...as you said Vinnie was so cool...and I mean it's hard not to just want to give the guy a big hug....the dudes from Styx were really cool.....James was super super cool...and it's awesome he's such a huge metal fan.....so yeah I really enjoyed the show....the guy from Dangerous Toys was a neat little cameo...although his question wasn't too hard...was fun to see that guy and although I didn't know that girl....she was delicious!
as always I am sad to see the season end...I believe they said that was season 10...so kudos to TMS....even when they drop the ball a little...it's still my favorite night of the week because it's on.

As for TMS, make it a 52 episode season damn it!! Now we have to wait 4-5 months for the new season? It always seems to take that long.
Here's my wish list for Season 11's first guest.....
Vinnie Vincent! How f u c k i n g epic would that be? To get someone that makes Howard Hughes look like a party animal. I don't mean as a Special Guest Guitarist. I would want a full hour of him on the panel dishing all things KISS, Ex Wife, everything!!!!!!

I still can't believe Jake E Lee is nearly deaf...that to me is really sad...would love to have him on the show....metal should do a tribute concert for that guy and try and get him some help...Ozzy too....**** man.

I told you about that....I'd sent pics from some club in vegas...or like a video on youtube.....he's got some sort of degenerate disease but I think he's nearly deaf...it's very sad...and who knows...you know with maybe some sort of proper surgery it could be helped to some extent....he looked pretty down on his luck...kind of haggard and like rotted teeth a little...he looked happy though kind of in a weird way....just not like what you remembered him as.
I mean the Ozzy money is LONG gone that's for sure.

Yeah, I remember that now. Jake is another one I would love to see on TMS, but that is more unlikely than Axl ever doing the show. Oh, wait.....
