Appleseed Ex Machina is a fantastic movie with some seriously slick and sick animation. It's CGI and a hint of traditional animation for the character models. It has a texture that keeps it grounded from becoming a full-on CGI  o r g y. Appleseed is a cross between Blade Runner (in the daytime that is), Zombies Flicks and The Matrix and is produced by John Woo. Yes, THAT John Woo. So any balletic gun fights found within is purely intentional. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/GleeClappingHands.gif)

The movie does a great job of setting up the main and supporting characters wihtout being overwhelmed with unnecessary exposition and the story is pretty good too, even though it's not entirely original. As for the characters, there are a handful of kickass character models that just look so  f u c k i n g  cool. The reason this didn't get a perfect rating has to do with some of the dialog and line readings. I'm rating the English Language track only. Some of the lines were a little too on-the-nose to what is visually happening on the screen and the acting at times was a bit over the top.

Anyway, this is just a minor gripe and certainly will not take away from the enjoyment of the film. Highly recommend this. Give it a Rent for sure.
