The Liberty of the Seas from Royal Caribbean is one of the biggest, fastest and most luxurious passenger vessels in service today, served by a crew of 1300 on 18 decks. With a gross tonnage of 160,000, it can truly be said that the rock-themed benefit voyage will be a “heavy” experience for both bands and fans. The ship, almost as long as four football fields, cruises at 21.6 knots and is scheduled for a port stop at Labadee, a private area operated by Royal Caribbean.
The main attraction of the cruise is, of course, multiple performances by the Rock Legends bands aboard. The ship offers no fewer than three performance venues for Rock Legends Cruise bands: The Deck, The Platinum Theater and Studio B/Ice Rink. All artists will perform 2-3 shows, festival style and a schedule of performances will be released closer to the sail date. This format will allow individuals to come and go between venues to see different bands. Our aim is to allow each and every Rock Legends Cruise passenger to have an opportunity, over the course of the voyage, to see the bands they wish to see.
On the flip side of this amazing line up, many of the bands have long ago morphed into replacement personnel, yet keep the name alive (I'm looking at you Molly Hatchet)
