I've heard a lot of good things and bad things said about this one. But after the less than impressive follow up of 2 Fast 2 Furious (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/2-fast-2-furious-(2003)/msg5600/#msg5600) and the more improved follow up The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift  (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/the-fast-and-the-furious-tokyo-drift/msg5805/#msg5805), I was more than ready to check out Fast & Furious with this being the first true sequel in the franchise to that of The Fast and the Furious (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/the-fast-and-the-furious/msg5582/#msg5582).

Here we get the original cast of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. Now you may look at the list of names and say "really, you're excited for these guys"? Yeah, I am. Although the first one is just mindless fun and noting more, I really hate when Hollywood reboots a series with a new cast after only one installment in the series. They expect to generate the same results just because of name recognition and that the actors don't matter. Even though the follow ups had their moments, there really wasn't anything tying any of the films together. Cameo's at the end don't cut it for me.

So it was fun to see the story more or less pick up where the first one left off. Kinda. Sure, it's 5 years later, but with all the players back on board, it just felt right. Now, does the movie deliever? For me it does. It is what it is. I get fast cars, crazy stunts and incredible hot looking women. I mean, Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! I was a bit surprised in that they killed off.....

Well, I won't ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen the movie yet. But it sets the ball rolling for this installment and actually has weight to it rather than just racing for pink slips this time around. Now it's personal. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Definitely a Rent if your a fan of the franchise.

Fast & Furious is a guilty pleasure for me. Love them all to some degree or another. Loud, fast, machines, women... all good.

I've started picking up the series whenever I run across a deal

The one I got from the Library was just the barebones Edition. I know they have a Special Edition. Any words if this is worth picking up? I do like the movie and want to add it to my collection.

Sorry, don't know. I'm not a big fan of extra features. If they are there... fine.
