Before I watched this tonight, I was certain that I had seen Resident Evil: Apocalypse before. Nope, I haven't. This one literally picks up right where Resident Evil (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/resident-evil-(2002)/msg8912/#msg8912) left off. Okay, maybe not literally. They do a recap that takes about 10 minutes to fill out before we get back into the story of Raccoon City being infected and seeing Alice (Milla Jovovich) exploring everything above ground.

Although the writing was really bad in this one and the acting by a couple of actors is laughable, I found myself enjoying this more than the first one. It still has a lot of flaws, my biggest peeve being that the director and or cinematographer chose to shoot the bulk of the movie in medium to close up shots. Half the time I didn't even know where the  f u c k  the action was taking place due to the lack of Establishing Shots or Long shots. The Director was horrible here.

This movie may be called a "horror" genre, but it played more like an action piece. No scares for me here as the Zombie's kind of are forgotten about entirely during the 3rd act. They only resurface at the very end to attack the bad guy as the Copter takes off. I will say that I didn't have a clue that "Terminator-Zombie" was in fact Matt from the first Resident Evil. So, that was a surprise for me.

Definitely worth a Rental.

This is turning out to be Jarred Harris Day as he was Dr. Ashford here and was in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Buttons (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/the-curious-case-of-benjamin-buttons/msg8894/#msg8894) earlier today.

And can someone please explain why the  f u c k  Valentine was dressed as a poor man's Lara Croft the entire movie? She looked hot, but it was still odd to see another video game character dressed as she was in something unrelated to Resident Evil.
