Returns September 6, 2011 on FX.

Quote
Kurt Sutter has stated that there will be a 14 month time lapse to allow for the majority of SAMCRO's prison sentence to occur offscreen, but is undecided on whether to start the season with them in prison, or after they have been released. "There will be a new mayor, a new chapter and a new sheriff. The 21st century is going to land at SAMCRO's doorstep." Danny Trejo will guest star as Romero “Romeo” Parada, a former Mexican military commando. Rockmond Dunbar and LaMonica Garrett join the cast as Sheriff Eli Roosevelt and Deputy Sheriff Cane respectively. On May 16, 2011 on his official blog, Kurt Sutter announced "Appisodes" that will be mini-episodes available first via the Sons of Anarchy Mobile App and then added to the show's official website and YouTube later on. The number of mini-episodes is not confirmed although Kurt Sutter did confirm that the content of those episodes will deal with goings-on during the fourteen month gap between seasons 3 and 4 chronologically.

Man, I can't wait for SOA to come back. But I fear that just like they did last season, Hulu will delay posting any of the new episodes 1 month. Grrrr!  >:(

Through A Glass Darkly

Another knock-out episode. Nice twist with the Old Lady. I was certain that it was just another rich, full-of-herself lady that thinks she can just buy whatever she wants...including her Granddaughter. I should have known that there was more to the story. So, having it turn out that the kidnappers used Photoshop to set up the mark was good.

Props to Ed Lane for the kill shot on a moving target. BAM!!

As for the overall mythology of the show, it's getting interesting now that cracks are starting to form within the Unit ever since the cliffhanger from Season 3.  It looks like they will be doing an arc involving Kevin "Wordy" Wordsworth and his "secret" that he is keeping from Ed and the rest of the gang.

Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Those two names on paper seem like a can't-miss combination. There is so much funny between the both of them  heading into the movie that there would be some serious laugh-out-loud moments. Sadly, that isn't the case here. Sure, there are some funny, well, nice chuckles here and there. But there really wasn't a scene that was just rip-roaring funny. It's an okay movie for what it is. It's not bad, but it's not great either. For the best laughs, of course I have to point to the blooper reel that comes at the end with the credits. It's for this reason alone that it gets a half star ratings bump.

I gotta go with a Rent here.

Mayhem is going to drive ****-ping insane. Can't wait. :D

I have no problem with this. Actually, I would consider the season to a be a failure if he didn't.

That Tapeworm Mission was gnarly....or nasty. I haven't decided yet. But getting swallowed by a worm and then having to fight your way out was fun.  ;D

DVD's & Blu-rays / Battle: Los Angeles (2011)
« on: July 29, 2011, 09:21:41 pm »

I've heard the common criticism of Battle Los Angeles of it being loud, noisy, cliched, mindless and so on. Who the **** cares. When you go into watching a movie like this...what the hell are you expecting? It is what it is. And to me this was a fun 2 hours. If I were to decscribe what this movie is, I would say it's a cross between ID4 and Black Hawk Down. I will admit that I had very low expectations of this going into the movie. But right the from the get go I was drawn into the war. Aaron Eckhart as the unit's leader takes charge, carrying some heavy baggage from his last tour. Yes, it was obvious from the get go that he was hated by his own men and that by the end of the film he would earn the respect and admiration of those serving under him.

I'll just jump to the end when his Unit took out the Command-Center of the aliens. It was **** exhilarating when they succeeded taking down that mammoth hunk-o-junk. This is definitely a Buy for me.
