I'm Not Eating Out Of That : Zombie Head Popcorn Bucket

Quote
This is a zombie themed popcorn bucket designed by New York ad agency Y&R for Detroit horror convention Motor City Nightmares. The buckets were such a hit they intend to design more and sell them online. "Finally, some decent horror-themed popcorn buckets for movie night" we're all saying to ourselves right now.

Thanks to carey, who agrees there just aren't enough novelty popcorn buckets on the market right now. It's a real shame.

The bottom of the bucket doesn't look right. It makes it look like it was Photoshopped. Cool idea though.

The Collection (2012)

The Collection
is the follow up sequel to the very cool The Collector. If The Collection is anywhere near how well written and creepy the original was, it's gonna be another fun ride.

I highly recommend seeing both the Collector

Quote
The so-called “torture ****” genre is mostly dead, but has given way to a sort of action-adventure horror that fuses elements of that particular vision of horror with other ideas. That seems to be the slot in which to place The Collection, which comes from Saw IV-VI writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. The latter also directs, and the film is his sequel to the 2009 effort The Collector.

The story kicks off with a girl (Emma Fitzpatrick) going to a secret party that turns into a murder spree for a killer known as The Collector. Her father hires a merc crew to retrieve her, and the film seems to go down the Aliens path, as the team recruits Arkin (Josh Stewart), the one guy who escaped the Collector’s lair to guide them in an effort to take him down.

A new trailer shows off some of the action and murderous ideas at play in the film; check it out below.

uh, here's the trailer for the original The Collector (2009)

Sinister (Oct 12)

Red Band Trailer NSFW

Quote
Thankfully, the producers recognized their folly and cut a brand new red-band trailer. It’s everything the original isn’t: Oblique. Ominous. Shrouded in mystery. Think of it as horror impressionism — conceptual and atmospheric, not overtly informative. What they’ve given us is a brooding sequence of images that suggests rather than explains. And, my oh my, is it eerie. I’d buy my ticket based on the final shot alone.

Dying to look like an "AHS" ghoul, a decomposing "Walking Dead" zombie, or a tattooed "Sons of Anarchy" extra? Then this is your Halloween ticket.

Tinsley Tattoo Transfers

American Horror Story fans are already very familiar with makeup and prosthetic artist Christien Tinsley’s work. And so is the Hollywood film and TV industry. Tinsley was Oscar-nominated for his makeup, appliances and prosthetics in The Passion of the Christ and was recently Emmy-nommed for his AHS creations.

But he’s got a really fun sideline sure to please his fans this Halloween.

Ten years ago, he created his Tinsley Tattoo Transfers, which can transform you into a Sons of Anarchy extra in minutes. If you want to see how Ryan Gosling looks wearing them in the new film, The Place Beyond The Pines.

Just one youtube video of many...

This is actually a PSA (Public Service Annoucement)

Pretty clever...

The Undeading...

Quote
Vincenzo Natali may have feature films Haunter and Neuromancer on his immediate horizon (and High Rise a little further off), yet he finds time to direct another project. It's called The Undeading, and it's kind of brilliant.

It may look like the setup for a feature film, but it's actually a PSA sponsored by the Heart and Stroke Foundation that was created to raise awareness about how CPR can save lives. Of course, when you ask the guy who made Cube and Splice to direct a PSA, it's not going to be a boring or feel-good infomercial. It's bound to have a bit more spark to it, and in this case that spark is the zombiepocalypse.

We won't say anything else, we'll just say that it's a very fun, clever way of breathing some new (and important) life into zombies. And if you'd like to know more about the cause it's supporting, head to TheUndeading.ca.

Wonder how much they will show. SyFy censors pretty heavy.

I haven't watched anything on SyFy since Caprica went off the air. So, I have no idea what their censoring practices are.

Mama

I'm just a huge fan of Guillermo Del Toro, and a lot of stuff he does encompasses creepy. He knows how to make creepy films.

Quote
Next week you’re going to learn a lot about Mama, Andy Muschietti‘s adaptation of his short film starring Jessica Chastain and produced by Guillermo Del Toro. I was lucky enough to be on the set of the creepy film and you’ll be able to read all about it on Tuesday. Until then, Universal has just released a second trailer for the horror film, scheduled for release January 18.

In this trailer you’ll see Chastain’s punk-rock character struggle with raising the nieces of her boyfriend (Game of Thrones‘ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, in a dual role) who are being haunted by the ghost of their mother. Check it out below and come back next week for much more.

Thanks to Universal for the new trailer. It was released yesterday with subtitles, but now we have the US version.
