The title of the trailer just ruined the entire movie for me.

I just have this 'off switch' when the term 'found footage' is mentioned. I thought it was a clever plot device when Blair Witch did it, but since then it's been run into the ground. I will never come around to liking this device ever again no matter how "good" the movie may be.

It's not all bad, for example Paranormal Activity. I just hate the shaky cam, the shitty videography, and the worse part, some stupid reason to continue shooting in ridiculous situations

ABC's of Death - Red Band Trailer NSFW

Holy crap.... what's going on here?

Quote
The trailer for the horror anthology ABCs of Death has gone online.  The film boasts 26 short films from a number of different directors who were assigned a letter and given free reign to tell a story about death using a word that begins with said letter.  Judging by this trailer, the results range from inventive and eye-catching to twisted and graphic.  We’ve previously seen the terrifyingly great claymation short T Is for Toilet, so hopefully the other shorts are just as fun.  Either way, ABCs of Death is likely a must-see for fans of the horror genre.

With the movie being an anthology (different Directors and different stories), it's not gonna make sense and thus a very confusing trailer, which it is.

Evil Dead teaser makes bold claim

Quote
Hollywood horror films tend to play it safe and predictable these days, coming across more like date movies than something designed to disturb and unsettle an audience. Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake appears to be heading in a different direction if that first trailer is any indication – a gory, violent and unsettling one based on what we saw in that clip.

The first teaser poster for the film ups the stakes even more – claiming that the new movie will be “The Most Terrifying Film You Will Ever Experience.” We somehow doubt that, but hey – in the pantheon of great poster taglines, it’s not too shabby.

We’ll have to wait until April 12, 2013 to see if Alvarez’s film can live up to its own hype and escape the shadow of its famous inspiration, but until then have a look at the new artwork and let us know what the most terrifying film you’ve ever experienced (so far) is in the comment section

Quote
Forget about that low-quality Evil Dead remake trailer from the New York Comic-Con – today we’ve got the officially sanctioned high-def release for your perusal. Will it live up to the expectations of Deadites everywhere or is this another retelling of a classic horror tale designed to annoy the gore-geek contingent?

Remaking a film like Evil Dead is an enterprise filled with potential pitfalls, and we’ll have to wait until the movie officially releases on April 12, 2013 to find out if Fede Alvarez and crew managed to avoid stumbling into them, but here’s what we can tell from the new trailer.

-- Director Fede Alvarez appears to be attempting to pull off the difficult balancing act of re-creating the original films (some shots look very similar to ones in Sam Raimi's originals) while also putting his own stamp on things.

-- Jane Levy's new take on Ash feels more like a take on Bruce Campbell's classic character in name only. You don't really get an Ash vibe from her in the trailer. We'll have to see if that changes in the finished film.

-- The tone of the trailer feels different than the tone of the original films. While the first Evil Dead was a gory horror movie with some B-movie humor, the sequel was more comedic still. This trailer doesn't seem funny at all. Part of what makes Evil Dead great is the blending of humor and gore. If one half of the equation is off here, it could throw everything out of balance.

So, it's too early to tell how this project will ultimately play with horror fans. NYCC reaction was largely positive and the film has Campbell and Raimi's personal involvement working in its favor, but this horror geek remains unsold. Have a peek at the trailer below and let us know what you think. Also, this is a red-band trailer, so it's Not Safe for Work

I dunno dude. That looks pretty tame by today's standards. While watching the trailer, I actually thought this was a Disney production.

Wyrmwood

If Mad Max meets the zombie apocalypse

Quote
We half expected to see Bellflower director Evan Glodell climb out of the Medusa-like car in the opening of the teaser for Aussie indie zombie flick Wyrmwood. The Mad Max references are clear as day in the post-apocalyptic movie, which is currently looking for funding on Indiegogo. The filmmakers are a third of the way through their "retina-blistering" version of "Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead," and they hope it will become the next piece of Oz-ploitation cult cinema that fans will be talking about for years to come.

Dustups in a desert (or deserted) landscape? Check. Ravenous zombies? Check. Homemade body armor and a crazy car? Check. The action and gore levels seem about right, and we're curious to see more Wyrmwood. If you're inclined to support a flesh-munching, crowd-funding project for the holidays, head to the film's campaign page and learn more. In the meantime, enjoy this seven-minute clip to get a feel for things.
