Well, Myers should have been doing that for the last 10 years while he was making Shrek. I seriously doubt he is going to change now when he is trying to get back into the public eye. He tried and failed with The Guru, so of course he's gonna go back to the well with Austin and Wayne. Easy money. I honestly don't think the majority of people out there want to see new characters, especially when Austin and Wayne's World gives us a bunch of characters with different actors.
