I honestly think what's happening is that the execs in charge are about our age (and I'm including Mac, even though he's older than I am), and they're basically trying to recreate the VHS collection they had when they were young.  That's it.  That's why we're getting all these remakes.  Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters at some point, Bad Boys 3, Rush Hour 4 they wanna make (Jackie doesn't want to, thank god)...
