"We need to find what did this." Damn this looks good, really good. We've been tipped to check out a new trailer for a sci-fi/fantasy short film called Dust, directed by Mike Grier and filmed in Japan in 11 days. The guerrilla-style production took their cast and crew to abandoned rural areas and remote sites in the southern island of Shikoku. The project was funded on Kickstarter last year and now has a trailer ready teasing an eventual full release. This footage with finished VFX looks incredible, better than I was expecting, and the story seems intriguing as well. Cool fantasy creatures, maybe a dragon? I'm looking forward to this.

Produced by Ember Lab and filmed in remote areas of Japan, Dust takes place in a world of rapid evolution. Each year new species and adaptations alter the balance of their ecosystems. Technology and deep tradition exist as symbiotic opposites dividing people who live in the countryside from those who live in walled cities. Amidst this cultural turmoil, nature offers up an unexpected challenge. Dust is directed by Mike Grier, produced by Josh Grier, with music by Yasuharu Takanashi and Francois Jolin. The cast includes Masashi Odate, Michael Lopez, Madeleine Lee and Kiyomi Fukazawa. For more Dust, visit their website or Facebook
