LIfe Of Pi - Ang Lee

Today I saw a trailer for the Life of PI and was pretty much watching with my jaw hanging open. The visual of just one scene was odd, exciting, weird, amazing, energetic.

I can't find it online... yet. I think it was just released for the Prometheus film. It was in 3D and a couple of cuts were eye popping.

Reading that it's based on a book no one thought could be made into a movie... sooooo, let's see how the full production turns out.
The 2 minute clip had my attention.

More to come.

Finally, the clip I was talking about... finally released. It's pretty freakin wild. This is in 3D, so I can imagine what this will be like in the cinema.

We’ve had posters and a trailer for Ang Lee’s ambitious and, by all accounts, visually spectacular take on Yann Martel’s Life Of Pi. Now the first clip from the film has arrived, showing Pi (Suraj Sharma) and Bengal tiger Richard Parker) dealing with some flying fish. Take a look above.

The footage showcases the effects-driven but startlingly realistic look of both the fish and the feline antagonist.

Pi follows Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, who is voyaging with his parents from India to Canada as they relocate their zoo’s menagerie after political tensions rise at home.

But when the ship sinks in a huge storm, he’s forced to take 227-day journey in a lifeboat when his ship sinks in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It's a journey he shares with his feline friend (frenemy?), and some other of the zoo’s inhabitants, though suffice to say they don’t last all that long with a tiger hanging around.

Lee's latest docks at our screens on December 20.

The trailer, uh, the movie looks amazing. It's already being hyped for Best Picture of the Year.
