Wasn't referring to you. The stuff you put up is wanted. I'm talking about sites that flood it with 50 new shots every week about everything in a around one particular shot.

Oh, I guess I've missed those... or maybe subconsciously avoid them.

I'm so convinced that this will be "every giant robot anime ever: the movie."  Not that it's a bad thing, though... just that's what it's going to be.  Still excited for it.

And how could we not mention THIS?  Oh sh-t...

Legendary Pictures has released a couple of fun little viral posters for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. The first one above is a Kaiju attack warning that is translated as saying, "KAIJU WARNING: Seismic activity around The Breach. Prepare for battle." The other poster comes from the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, and it basically speaks for itself, no translation needed... if you know how to speak English.

I imagine we'll be seeing a few more of these viral images leading up to the July 11th release date of the movie. I couldn't be more excited about this movie, especially after seeing the epically insane footage that Del Toro recently screened at WonderCon.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman. The sci-fi action film is set to hit theaters July 12th, 2013.

Just saw it.  Quite liked it.  I won't go into detail because I'm sure you haven't seen it yet, but do.  And on the biggest screen possible, because WOW.

Was this filmed in IMAX? We have only one IMAX theater, but I'm not sure they will be showing it though. Just curious if other theaters will be.

It wasn't shot on IMAX, but it was shot with Red so it's at least 5K.  Possibly even more.  It isn't "real" 3D though.

I just found out the Jaeger computer voice is GLaDOS from Portal.

Good to hear.

I'm getting psyched. I might try to catch it tomorrow. If not, next weekend.

They have put out sooooooo much material for this, I feel I've seen it all.

Not really, but they are hyping this big time and I think they were doing it to cover the potential bad hype it was starting to feel, like they did with John Carter.
So already reading reports it's doing very well in some countries and so-so in others.

Looking forward to this.

This summer will probably have me in the theaters more than ever from the past. It's all the sci-fi I tell ya

Caught this little film yesterday and I was quite pleased. It's not perfect, but it's not like anything I've seen before. I too won't give anything away.

But I will say this.

Idris Elba... wow, just wow. This man is on his way to becoming a major player in the movies, if he isn't considered that already.

You could say he stole the movie... yes from the Jaegers and Kaiju. But I'm saying Mr. Elba was truly a rock solid, confident, intimidating yet respected character. Amazing performance. I'm betting this man has many sides and nothing he can't do. I hope he continues to pick good roles.

Back to Pacific Rim... I do have one complaint. A lot happens on the screen... up close. Many, many times I could not tell what was going on. The fights while amazing, were difficult to comprehend. The scale of this movie is soooooo huge. I imagine it will be fine on small screen, but do yourself a favor and watch it on the big screen. Pacific Rim is that kind of movie.... great summer fare.

I've been waiting for Idris Elba to blow up big time for a few years now. Hopefully Pacific Rim is finally going to get him into the A-List category. Glad to hear that the movie more than met your expectations.
