Film School Rejects weighs in as well.  One of the many good points they raise: why are we already being teased about the next blockbuster within the name of this one?

Because WB is playing catch up with Marvel and they will do anything to drill into the consumer that THEY have a franchise as well. That's why the Studio is forgoing a proper "sequel" to Superman. They don't have the time or the patience to wait around 3-4 more years to unleashed their own "All-Star" flick. They can't sit around and make a couple of Superman flicks, a couple of Batman flicks and certainly don't want to risk doing a stand alone Wonder Woman flick for fear that women can't "open a movie" which is what I'm sick and tired of hearing about as the reason why we have never gotten a big screen version of the Amazonian.

Looks like we aren't the only ones dissecting the new title.........

I read a pretty interesting opinion piece the other day about this exact thing. It’s from the perspective of someone who is not a comic book fan but enjoys the movies. The author’s main point in the piece is how the culture of the fans have become more intensely negative. Their kneejerk reactions and attacks. The author must have been older because he was reminiscing about the days where you would be ‘excited’ to hear of news of a movie being made. Now, it’s about crapping all over the movie news.

And I have to tend to agree with the piece. I don’t understand crapping on something as trivial as a title. In the whole context of things… it means nothing. I don’t understand getting worked up about something so meaningless. It has zero impact on your life. But if you have brought upon yourself to make it a thing, all I can do is shake my head and say good luck with that.

I'll see if I can find the article.

It's sort of  like Louis CK's bit about wifi on the airplane not working "look how entitled you feel to something that didn't exist five minutes ago."

I think the reason we used to be excited for new movies all the time is because it's an issue of trust, there's still some people we trust to give us a good movie (Pixar, Marvel, etc) but because the process has become so open over the last twenty years, combined with the fact that audiences are savvier about the material they consume, they've become more discriminating.  Which I think is a good thing.  Having negativity be your default position ISN'T a good thing, but I think it's coming from a place where the movie fan has been burned so often.

Love that CK bit.

I get it, but I don't.

I know I've complained before about remakes, reboots, etc. I was just grumbling and may have posted pieces on it, but come to realize, what I was saying didn't change anything. Didn't really expect it too. No one was listening and rightly so. Well, maybe listening but shrugging it off. Basically pissing in the wind.

Although sometimes speaking a problem out loud helps you articulate the reasons why you feel that way and helps direct you towards a solution.  Though I don't think that's what 99.99999% of the internet bitchers are trying to do.

I would say 'Yes', that it is Gotham. It looks like they took a direct still from the Batman Arkham games and that's okay with me as I love those games.

Bummer. I was holding out hope that Amell would make a cameo of some sorts in BvS.

Batman v Superman - Wonder Woman Costume & Panel Footage Reaction - Comic Con 2014

The fun part of watching Comic Con at home is waiting to see which fan in attendance had the balls to videotape the closed proceedings, upload their video to YouTube for me. The waiting begins...........I really want to see Gal Gadot in action as Wonder Woman.

50 Shades of Wayne.  Because you never realized you wanted to see Batman have kinky sex before.

What's interesting is that this is the perfect end result of having American Psycho play Batman.
