Transformers 3 : Dark of the Moon
« on: July 04, 2011, 01:13:10 am »
Already watched TF3 in 3d.   Well I think the TF franchise is at an end and all I can say is that all 3 movies were "really in a hurry".  Mr. Bay cramped them all up for almost 6hrs in total. the script was like: "we need to have a fast-paced scene then, have a comedic moment and a fast-paced battle scene again". I was also disappointed that my fave character Soundwave got a 5min screentime. Another disappointment was  that Megatron wasn't the same character I used to know. He became useless. How sad. Lastly, the new girl sucked big time. All i see is a sexy body and a head full of collagen lips. Megan Fox is still the ultimate TF babe.
the movie was fine but not as good as I wanted it to be. out of 5 stars, I'll give it a 2.5.

I've never been a fan of Michael Bay. Personally, I think he is a horrible film maker prone to having a serious hard-on for explosions and car chases. Sure, the dude makes nice eye candy, but at a cost: no story. I have yet to get around to watching any of the Transformer films. I hear a lot of negative stuff and that it's more of the same things that I despise about Bay that I don't know if I will ever see them. But what I have heard is that most people are saying that T3 is the best of the bunch. What that means, I don't know. Best eye candy? Certainly not the best "Plot-driven, character piece".

FYI, Megan Fox was the only reason I was even thinking about checking out the first 2 Transformers;)

It's the frikkin' Transformers for Christ's sake. It's a movie based on a cartoon that was based on Toys. Basically, it was a half hour toy commercial that was turned into 3-2.5 hour car commercials. Why is a story even an issue here ? Michael Bay is the smartest guy in the room if people keep ragging on him and his movies still keep making hundreds of millions of dollars. To paraphrase Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars eps.4 ," Who is the fool ? The guy making the movie or the guy that keeps paying to see them even though he thinks the guy making the movie is a hack ? "

Oy.

I wanna see what Michael Bay does with the remake to My Dinner With Andre. He will probably blow the table up along with everyone in the resturant within the first 5 minutes. If he does that, I will DEFINITELY pay to see it.  ;D

FYI, I have never seen My Dinner With Andre, so pfftt!!!  :P

I had lunch with a girl named Andrea, once. That's as close as I ever got to My Dinner With Andre :D

It's interesting that when people rag on Bay, they only seem to mention the Transformers films. The guy did Both Bad Boys movies, The Rock and Armageddon, which was written by the current flavor of the month, J.J Abrams.  Oh yeah, The Island was excellent.  Pearl Harbor wasn't great but it was okay.

People should blame the Transformers as a concept for sucking, not Michael Bay.

About the explosions and loud noises....They are 30ft robots for Christ's sake. They aren't exactly going to be dainty. They will break and blow up whatever they hit.

So are you endorsing that I see the Transformer movies? I thought The Rock was pretty good with a decent enough story to go along with the bangs. Bad Boys  was good, Bad Boys 2 was not. I caught Pearl Harbor on TV last week for the first time since I saw it in the theater and it was much better than I remember it being.

They are what they are and what they have always been billed as :  Big, loud, explosive popcorn movies.  I enjoyed the first two as such and don't expect any more from the third film.

I think it's silly when people argue a lack of story or plot for something that is based on basically the idea of selling toys.  It's not like they called it Schindler's List starring Optimus Prime.

:D :D :D

BTW, saw Stake Land tonight. Excellent. Very well made for a low budget flick. Lot's of character and depth for a vampire flick. I will try to post a review later this weekend.
