I honestly didn't see this coming: Elizabeth Banks has been cast as Rita Repulsa in the Power Rangers reboot.  You know, some people might find it a little Effie, but I think she'd be ... some other reference.  Actually, looking at her IMDB, I forgot how much kid's stuff she was in, LEGO Movie, Meet Dave, etc so I guess it makes sense.

What this has me thinking is what other comedy go-tos this might bring to the franchise, the Rangers were always serious but the villains were always funny, so the idea that Banks could bring in some friends like John Michael Higgins or Fred Willard intrigues me.

I SWEAR I saw a dragon!

Oh man, this was one of my fave movies when I was a wee tyke, but at the same time I know how cheesy and out-of-date it was.  Any sort of remake would have to pretty much be a re-imagining, but luckily it looks like they're trying to keep that sense of magic and wonder alive in this new version.

If this new version doesn't have Candle On The Water in it, I will consider this to be a massive failure!  ;)

Love the original and can't wait to see this new one.

I've been meaning to re-watch Pushing Daisies, and now I feel an extra push to since Jim Dale is the narrator and there was a Pete's Dragon episode.

I didn't even know this was coming at all. Heard nothing of a sequel.

Ghostbusters - Official Trailer #1

I could have sworn that we were discussing this in it's own separate thread, but I can't find it. Anyway, as far as the trailer goes......meh. This is very low on my must-see list.

A Hologram For The King - Dang, I haven't seen a movie trailer with voice over in ages.  It's almost old-school.  Almost.  They're really trying to sell the story, but if the execution is anything like the start of the trailer, I'm probably in.

Two for two.  Pop Star- Never Stop Never Start.  You may not be the biggest fan of Andy Samberg, but dang, a Lonely Island movie?  And look at that cast... and that's not even counting the inevitable Justin Timberlake cameo (seriously, how does he NOT show up in this flick?)

This feels like the funny we've been missing from SNL for a couple years now, so count me interested.

I'm a fan of his because of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Before that, didn't really pay much attention to him other than his Dick-In-A-Box skit.
