~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is exciting news and an early Christmas present for me. A live DVD and CD. It was heartbreaking to here Adele had to cancel her tour due to throat issues. She is young and needs to get them back in shape, but luckily for now her performance was recorded.
I’ve said it long ago and now it’s no longer news for music lovers, but Adele’s work is fresh, exciting, classic and a million other adjectives. She has become SO popular, I have to watch my intake of her music or I will get burned out. Her songs seem to be on everywhere. But I will be picking this set up. A gorgeous woman with a gorgeous voice. It will be interesting to see if she changes things up or remains true to the original recordings.
Get well soon
I've been a fan of Adele for quite some time now. I just hope that her health issues don't become a lingering one and that this is just a minor bump on her way to bigger and better things in the future.
Adele breaks Beatles, Pink Floyd US records
Adele's second album '21' has spent 16 weeks at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart, meaning that it has now broken records set by both The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The Tottenham bred soul singer has now matched the success of the soundtrack to the 1997 film Titanic, but beaten The Beatles 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', both of which topped the US charts for 15 weeks a piece. Adele now has the record for the longest running US chart topping album by a British artist.
Last week Adele sold 104,000 more copies of '21', in addition to the 17 million copies that the album has already sold globally.
New research recently revealed that Adele's singles were the most popular karaoke tracks in 2011. The singer's chart topper 'Someone Like You' was the most sung song of the year with one in four singers choosing the track, according to the Lucky Voice website.
Her cover of Bob Dylan's 'Make You Feel My Love', from her debut '19', was also the second most popular choice after it accounted for 10 per cent of three million tracks chosen by 100,000 users. Adele has also been named as one of the favourites to win big at at this year's Brit Awards by bookmakers.
Adele is the overwhelming favourite to pick up the gong for Best Album for her second LP '21', with William Hill giving her odds of 2/7.
Adele set to make 2012 Grammy-night comeback after vocal-cord surgery
As much as like Adele, I hate award shows so much more. I'll wait for the youtube video.
Adele - Live at the Royal Albert Hall
Believe it or not, I don't always immediately watch the DVD's I've purchased.
Finally I got to sit down and watch the Adele - Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
Simply phenomenal. Reminded me of many other artists like Sting, Elton John, Chris Botti, Michael Buble and others where the voice is in the spotlight. Adele does nothing better. She just stands there, but in this case, that's OK with me. The band is phenomenal as well. The mix on the DVD is perfect. From the intricate details of the guitar or banjo to the full swelling sound of an orchestra.
Adele talks between each song. A rare time where that does not bother me. She was smiling and laughing and telling stories about herself and the song. Not overly long. Just enough for a setup. Loved the intimate relationship she was embracing with the viewer.
I do have on con... surprisingly, on one to many occasions, the editing is the dreaded MTV quick cut to the pace of the music. Adele never really chugs along, but the song structure is being reproduced by quick cuts and it just bugs the crap outta me.
I do have the regular DVD version and it shows the pixelation I despise. I'm on the fence about upgrading to Blu-ray. If I can find it for a very decent price, I'll probably swap out.
Highly recommend this evening with Adele.
Note: About the 28 mark, she covers some other group and it's different... but very good.
Can't believe the whole concert is available here....
Adele's 1-Year-Old Son Wins Five-Figure Sum in Lawsuit Against Paparazzi
Quote
Adele's 1-year-old son, Angelo Adkins, has won a five-figure sum in a privacy case over paparazzi photos, which document the tiny tots "milestone moments," according to multiple reports.
The 26-year-old singing sensation and her partner Simon Konecki brought the suit against photo agency Corbis Images U.K. Limited after images of  their baby boy, who was born in October 2012, were made available for publication in British tabloids.
Lawyers for the "Rolling in the Deep" singer told the High Court in London today that the hitmaker was adamant that her son never become "public property."
"It is a matter of profound sadness that many of his milestone moments, such as his first family outing and his first trip to playgroup, were photographed and published worldwide expressly against his family's wishes," Adele's solicitor, Jenny Afia, said (per BBC News). "These images were taken during private, recreational time unconnected with professional or public engagements. They represent a clear infringement of our client's right to privacy."
