So my buddy Joe is touring, opening up for Bob Seeger. Unfortunately this is big... In price and venue. I would maybe pay the $85 to see him, but I would hate the massive crowd of people... That's mostly there to Mr. Seeger.

Not sure what to do. I would like to see him. Seeger would be fun too, but I've seen him more than any other artists due to his climb back in the 70s and 80s, opening for very band that came through.

Just go to see Walsh and skip Seeger. But I know if you spent that kind of money, you will stay for both shows. I would.

It's the crowd that would get to me. Sale started Saturday. I just checked seating... oh my gawd... terrible seats. This is a big show in these parts.

I hate crowds myself, but I would bet top dollar that at the end of the show you'd be happy that you went....sh*tty seats and all.

Nah, I've really developed a taste for quality. I remember those concerts sitting so far back you couldn't see the bands faces. Idiots standing up in front... Blah, blah, blah. Today, I either get good seats, free seats or don't go. That's why I love my live concert DVD's.

Don't most acts these days incorporate huge jumbo tron monitors to compensate for those nose bleed sections so that you can still "see" them.

So that gets to the point of seeing them. Watching a big screen in an arena or an open field is silly to me, when they are right there.

I love the "Live From Daryl's House" format. I've been a fan for a long time.

Man, one of the things I can't get... on cable. Might have to resort to youtube.

A very good open and honest conversation.

I know. Mac, if you have a Roku, you can just send it to your TV which is what I do. So, no sitting at the computer, watching on small screen.

It's worth it for only 50 bucks. I'm sure if you look around, you can find it cheaper from 3rd party dealers.

Ann Wilson and Joe Walsh Top Guest List on New Album by Microsoft Co-Founder

Quote
Ann Wilson and Joe Walsh are among the classic rock stars who’ve been tapped to play on the debut album by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and his group the Underthinkers. The album, ‘Everywhere at Once,’ will be released on Aug. 6.

The record will also include contributions from Wilson’s Heart bandmate and sister Ann, Chrissie Hynde, Derek Trucks, Roger Waters‘ tour guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo and Ivan Neville.

Allen — who wrote or co-wrote all of the album’s 13 songs — plays guitar on the blues-leaning tunes. Before forming the Underthinkers, he was a member of a band called the Grown Men.

But he’s best known as one of the co-founders of Microsoft in 1975. The Seattle native — who saw Jimi Hendrix perform when he was 16 — was the company’s chief technologist until 1983. Since then, he’s spread his wealth to various organizations around the country. He’s also shared the stage with some pretty famous people, including Mick Jagger, Carlos Santana, Bono, Ron Wood and Dave Grohl.

Because Allen is filthy rich, proceeds from ‘Everywhere at Once”s sales will go toward the EMP Museum‘s educational programs.
