Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)

Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger

There are 1000's of songs that can make this list, but I'm not going to even try to name them all. It's impossible. So, I decided to try and grab a few from each decade, some more than others. As it states in the thread title, which one would you pick as the most identifiable song from a movie and vice versa?

For me it comes down to these 2: Don't You (Forget About Me) and Eye Of The Tiger.

This is such a hard choice for me right now. I can't make up my mind. Bah!!!! I wish I didn't create this even thread now!!!  I will have to play through both songs a few times before I can decide which one it is.

You really know your older films.

Some of those songs are so iconic (that sound right?). I mean I can distinctly remember scenes because of the song. Arthur's Theme, On the Dark Side, Twist & Shout... great ****.

Twist and Shout for me out of that list. That scene is just so cool.

Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not just about TV.

I'm still undecided. I think I will run through the entire list and then some via YouTube before rendering a final verdict.

After devouring all the songs and looking at my choices it in terms of longevity and how the song / movie are intertwined....I went with...this.

Elton John - Tiny Dancer

I can't believe I forgot to put this on the list. I was actually humming the tune when I decided to make this thread. And yet, I STILL forgot. Bah!! But yeah, this one is a very close 2nd. If I had to do it all over again, I think this would be my top choice. But since I already voted, this will have to remain in 2nd.

Pretty good scene. I remember Elton talking about how that film brought a resurgence to him playing that song again in concerts. A song he loves to play.

Weird. I heard that he absolutely hated playing this live before Almost Famous came out and was kind of piiiiissed off that suddenly he was being forced to play it every night ever since. Now, I don't know if this is fact or not, but it is what I read. I'm trying to remember if it was Entertainment Weekly or Rolling Stone. Bah!!

If the above story is in fact true, I can only imagine that he would love it now because it's paying his rent, as he is in dire need of rent money. Poor chap that he is.

Huh, that is quite different. I did find this little nugget... whether it's factual or not is another issue.  ;D
