Chickenfoot's sophomore album, Chickenfoot III, is likely to sell between 50,000 and 60,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on Tuesday (September 27th). If that estimate holds true, the disc will almost definitely debut in the Top 10 on the Billboard album chart and could make it into the Top Five.

Chickenfoot's self-titled debut opened with 49,000 units back in June 2009 to debut at Number Six on the chart.

It's cool to see that the estimates are better then their debut, especially in this day and age when there really isn't a music biz anymore. Would it have been nice to see them get 100,000 units sold in the first week? Of course. But that's unrealistic now during the horrible economy. So, if the boys can land in the Top 5, that would be sweet.
