Elton John's newest album hits No. 1 in UK

Cripes, I didn't even know he was working on a project.

"Good Morning To The Night," a reworking of John's hit 1970s songs with Australian electronic duo Pnau, has climbed to the top of the UK charts, according to the Official UK Charts Company. The album, released July 16, is John's first to reach number one in 22 years, Reuters reports.

The catchy tune from which the album takes its name is also an official song of the 2012 London Olympics, The Guardian reports. Give it a listen below.

Speaking of Elton, I wonder if he's going to follow in the footsteps of Rod Stewart.

Nonetheless, this is a pretty solid sounding Elton performing the American Songbook classic Moon River
