Very cool collection. Edge does so much with so little and it's cool when he finally goes all out and does something a bit more "Hard Rock" as he does here.

Very cool... and he makes it look so easy and natural for him. Truly a Guitar Gawd

Earl Slick and Lee Rocker - Men Without Shame

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIsbPxkBW-M&feature=related

Back in the day, there was this side project for Lee Rocker and Jim Phantom called Phantom, Rocker and Slick. I was already a fan of the Stray Cats but I  was very curious who this 'Earl Slick' was. I kinda knew he had played with David Bowie, but I never really went any further than that. So, when their first single and video dropped, I was  f u c k i n g  blown away and had found a new Guitar God to worship. Earl's style of playing had more balls than anything that I had heard of in a while at that time. And holy crap, the  f u c k i n g  tone this guy had on the album was  f u c k i n g  off the hook ridiculous. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Orange Pre-Amp. So tasty it should be illegal in all states.

I couldn't find the original video, but this video of 2/3 of the band is just phenomenal. Listen to Earl tear it up. His playing is still stellar.

Like you, I know the name, but beyond knowing his sound, or looks or anything... I got nothing.

Sounds good. Now I know.

Thanks

George Thorogood & Albert Collins (Live Aid - 1985)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isTXK7sQm24&feature=related

George is one bad ass motherf*cker! I looooooooove his playing. His style is what I like to call "controlled chaos". It always seem to going a million miles an hour, but it's going somewhere very cool. Sure, lots of people can play fast, but they can't always play memorable licks without it sounding repetitive and redundant. And lets not forget Albert Collins. This dude can smoke anyone. I remember watching this live that day and was blown away by their performance. Funny story, when Collins came out on stage, I was like "what the f*ck is he doing with his guitar strap? It's on the wrong shoulder"! I had never seen any other guitar player before do that. So naturally I tried it myself....with disastrous results. I tried doing the 'windmill' ala Pete Townsend and my guitar went through the wall. BAM!!!! Hahaha. I was a

George Thorogood - Bad To The Bone (Live)

The song (and guitar playing) that got me into GT, the Guitar God. It's STILL one of my all time favorite songs to showcase guitar playing. I can't believe I haven't added the original recording of Bad To The Bone to The Greatest Songs Of All Time thread. Stoopid!!

I'm coming back around to one of my early fav heavy metal bands Budgie that consisted of Burke Shelley on vocals and bass, Tony Bourge on guitar and vocals, and Ray Phillips on drums. A lot of comparisons were made to Rush because of the 3 man powerhouse and Burke Shelley's high pitched voice.

Tony Bourge had and enormous influence on some of the current heavy metal artists in the last couple of decades. Below is Parents which showcases his skills in rock, blues and ballads. This video is of Tredegar, a group Tony formed after leaving Budgie. But Parents is a Budgie classic.

Tony has since retired from music...

Charo - Recuerdos de la Alhambra

I bet this post will come as a total shock and something completely out of left field. Yeah, I know you guys were never expecting to see Charo in this thread. But the fact of the matter is, this girl can play and she does it with such ease and finesse. Charo for the win!
