I like this guys voice...

Quote
Video footage of Slash and Myles Kennedy performing an acoustic version of the song "Standing In The Sun" for the readers of Classic Rock magazine can be seen below.

"World On Fire", the third album to be made available under the Slash solo banner, will be released on September 15 via Slash's own label Dik Hayd International distributed through Roadrunner Records (Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America). A total of 17 songs, including one instrumental, were laid down for the follow-up to 2012's "Apocalyptic Love" with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (ALTER BRIDGE, FALLING IN REVERSE, INCUBUS).

The cover artwork for the "World On Fire" album was designed by American contemporary artist Ron English.

Slash told Music Radar about the new CD, "I wrote the majority of the music when I was on the 'Apocalyptic Love' tour. You know, just sitting around in dressing rooms and hotel rooms for a year, I accumulated all these ideas. Then in September [2013] I sat down and went through everything I'd recorded on my voice memo on my phone and picked out about 20 different ideas then we went into pre-production in October and just started jamming. We were there for a couple of months, holed up in Mates rehearsal studio in Los Angeles. There was the whole writing process then once we had all the songs down we rehearsed the **** out of it, and then we brought the producer, Mike Baskette, in. And so we went through another phase of fine tooth-combing everything and getting the arrangements together. Myles came down and started working on his vocal parts… and by the time we were done with all that we were ready to go in and just bang the stuff out. It was a very quick process in the studio."

He continued: "The one thing about this record is that it was almost like it wrote itself, it was very effortless. And that happens very rarely, when there's a certain energy that carries the creative process and it's almost like you're not in control of it and you just ride that wave. That's how this record was. I can't think of any outside influence other than just going with this creative flow."

Slash released his first self-titled solo effort in 2010.

The legendary guitarist employed a different vocalist on each track of his first album, before settling on ALTER BRIDGE member Kennedy for both touring and eventually recording.

"Apocalyptic Love" earned Slash his two first-ever No. 1 U.S. rock radio hits with "You're A Lie" and "Standing In The Sun". The record's third single, "Anastasia", **** the Top 10 at both Modern and Active Rock.

Slash and AEROSMITH have teamed up for a U.S. tour this summer.

Myles is an incredible singer and a great replacement for Axl. It affords Slash the option of having someone that can recreate Axl's sound live and also sing his own stuff in his own unique personal style.

Top 10 Female Guitarists of All Time

Lita Ford for the win! Mojo finally gets a Top 10 List right. Pretty impressed with the list overall. Some faces in the mix that I've never even heard of until now.

Rig Rundown - Steve Stevens

Oh Lordy! Everything that is in the video, I want for Christmas!!! Gimme!!!! Steve breaks down his entire rig and the guitars he tours with. Heck man, he even talks about the Ray Gun myth that has been following him since Rebel Yell and it's cool to see him do a demonstration of it. Not sure if that was the same Bob Bradshaw rig he was messing with near the end of the video. It looks pretty similar to what he had back in the mid 80's. I don't think it would be able to survive that long. He may have had someone build him another using the same specs as before. Don;t quote me on that. As I remember it, the original was black and the one on stage was bluish, but that could be the sun giving it that look.

Top 10 Underrated Guitarists

Even though I know everyone on the list and to my ears and eyes, they are not underrated, I get why most are here. I absolutely knew that Prince would be in the top slot. Great to see the likes of Billy Gibbons, Lindsey Buckingham and Buckethead on the list just to hear they play.

See the world's most expensive guitar

Oh snap! One Million Dollars for the Diamond-encrusted Fender Strat! Sheesh! I'm surprised they would even allow that out on the floor. I wouldn't! The 24 String Bass is NUTS! I like that auto tuner. It was trippy to see it tuning itself like that and the fact that it has all different tuning's makes this a must-have for me.

Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro - Alpine White

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO - Desert Burst

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO - Honey Burst

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO - Vintage Cherry Burst

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO - Wine Red

Okay, I'm looking to get a Les Paul. Gonna go with Epiphone because I just can't justify getting Gibson right now that would break the bank. Besides, I just want a nice guitar as a weekend warrior as I'm not a professional. So, Epiphone it is. These are the finishes that I'm looking at. I want your input which one you like the best. Doesn't matter if you play guitar or not. Just want to see what you guys think is the best and why. I won't tell you mine until I've heard your choices so as not to influence you in anyway.

Without a doubt, my favorite of the bunch is the Alpine White. I'm actually in the same mode as you looking at kits. I've just seen kits on stage with the white or pearl white and when lights hit it, it just looks awesome. Seriously, that's my only push towards that finish.

My old guitarist has something similar to the Desert Burst, and I was very impressed how it looked.

I'm a weekend warrior of woodworking and love an amazing grain showing.

Let us know with what you get.
