I know.  I was tripping out on that/

I guess it's a magnetic strip...someone said that in the comments...I'd almost think that would cause a problem with the pick ups.

looks like a super cool guitar...apparently the neck is quite thick.

Paul really has gotten into the blues and moved away from his shred days (to some extent)

The Greatest Guitar Eddie Van Halen Owns Steinberger 5150 GL2T Documentary

I totally forgot about the Steinberger. The only time I ever got to play one of these was up at Guitar Trader. It really did sound great and more than that, felt good too. Whenever I went to Guitar Trader (Hint: It was a lot!), I always would pull this guitar from the rack and play for a bit in the Sound Booth. Good times!

yeah for original specs meaning off the shelf...those guitars are extremely rare and very expensive. (and sought after by the hard core EVH youtubers and facebookers.

I played one at namm a million years back (not saying that exact model) but I didn't like it...the lack of body and neck was really odd

might be something you can warm up to...but to me the "balance" of the guitar felt lacking
