That's a tricky thing....turning internet "fame" into a Fortune 500 Company, at least a very very successful one that isn't that high on the charts. As great as Chapman Guitars look and sound, to me they are still a niche brand and that isn't meant in a derogatory way. Why is Ibanez a powerhouse? Gibson? Fender? It comes down to who they are able to get to push those instruments. The Vai and Satriani name goes a long way in the bottom line for Ibanez. Angus Young and Slash's name recognition goes a long way to make kids want their respective Models and you know who pushes the Strat....Malmsteen. So until Chapman has someone on that level pushing their Brand, they will still be at a lower tier company. Think of it this way, if Vai were to end his association with Ibanez today and start using Chapman, their stock and name recognition would skyrocket. It would be THE guitar to have. Yeah, it's superficial to want a specific guitar just because so-and-so uses it....but that's the name of the game.
