I don't know who Steve Welch is, but he posted this on Facebook.

Quote from: Steve Welch via Facebook
When Prince was on New Girl the storyline was that our characters got to attend a party at his house. To that end, he sent us a playlist of songs he would actually play at his parties. Here is that playlist, it's a good one:
City in the Sky…The Staple Singers
Country John…Allen Toussaint
Fire…Ohio Players
Happy House…Shuggie Otis
Higher Ground…Stevie Wonder
I Was Made to Love Him…Chaka Khan
Listen to the Music…The Isley Brothers
The Lord is Back….Eugene McDaniels
Lost in Music…Sister Sledge
The Pinocchio Theory….Bootsy Collins
Rubber Duckie….Bootsy Collins
Rumpofsteelskin….Parliment
Skin Tight….Ohio Players
We’re Gettin’ Too Close….The Soul Children
Wild and Free….Curtis Mayfield
After The Love Has Gone….Earth, Wind & Fire
Back in Baby’s Arms…..Allen Toussaint
Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight….The Isley Brothers
Don’t Take My Sunshine….The Soul Children
How Could I Let You Get Away….The Spinners
I’ll Be Around….The Spinners
Push Me Away…..The Jacksons
Stay With Me….Shirley Brown
The Thrill Is Gone….Aretha Franklin

In case you want to throw a party in the style of Prince.

Prince - Raspberry Beret (1985)

We all know that the estate of Prince has employees who's sole responsibility is to actively search YouTube and report those that post songs from his albums and his music videos. Raspberry Beret in particular gets flagged a lot. Get this while it's hot as it's bound to get pulled. Love the song and I've always dugged the look and feel of the video itself.

So, I've been doing some research into The Revolution as I wanted to find out more than I already knew and it has been eye opening to say the least. A lot of turmoil within the band, this isn't news. But the thing I found really fascinating was reading about a few mini-reunions and aborted plans for them to reunite with Prince officially that never happened. With that knowledge about these partial reunions and whatnot, I can definitely say that if they ever do a Prince Tribute Concert that I mentioned a few post back, I can see Wendy, Lisa, Bobby Z, Matt Fink, Brown Mark and Dez Dickerson most likely closing out the show.

Bruce Springsteen - Purple Rain (Prince Tribute in Brooklyn)

I've been searching for other name singers and band tributes for Prince and found this one that was just uploaded today and it is incredible. Bruce kills it. He is so good that it gave me goosebumps. I got misty-eyed. As great as Bruce is here, Nils Lofgren destroys it. Nils channels his inner-Prince. It was both electrifying and breathtaking. Wow! Just.....WOW!!!!! Somewhere in Heaven, that all too familiar Prince smirk/smile of his came forth as he looked down on Nils tearing it up. I made sure to download the HD version of this. Not taking an chances.

This just in and for what it's worth?

Prince Revolution Reunite to Mourn ... Say Wendy & Lisa

Prince's former band members, Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, are speaking out for the first time about his death.

Wendy (guitar) and Lisa (keyboards) -- the most prominent members of The Revolution -- were at LAX Sunday morning, on their way to Minnesota ... and revealed plans for the band to get back together to honor their friend and bandleader.

If, like most people, you watched "Purple Rain" this weekend ... you saw how close Prince was to Wendy and Lisa, and it's clear in this video just how crushed they are by the loss.

Prince split from The Revolution in 1986, but still occasionally performed with Wendy and Lisa. One of the last times was an instant classic gig at the 2006 Brit Awards.

Thanks for the update. Getting The Revolution back together for this just makes perfect sense. I'm all for it. I really hope that Dez is involved.

Take A Rare Look Inside Prince's Paisley Park Estate

I've always wanted to see what Paisley Park looked like for years. This is the closet we will get for the time being. If I can't actually walk the grounds there (inside and out), the next best alternative would be a Video Tour of the place. Enjoy.

For some reason, I always pictured, like, a network of greenhouses.

Prince Was a Control Freak (and Fun) on New Girl Episode, Creator Says

The story behind how Prince ended up on New Girl. Fun read. Just a heads up, FOX is re-airing the episode tonight. Watch it. Trust me, it's worth it.

100 albums?  Geez, is there a game plan for their release?  Are they even GOING to release them?

I know Prince owned the music, but without a will, I don't know who has control over all that content now.  Or if the content is even that good.  H3ll, I have an ever-growing pile of material I don't put out... and that's for a reason!
