Special Guest Guitarist: George Lynch

This is easily the best episode this season and I would say it's in the Top 5 ever for the entire run of That Metal Show. Compare this episode with last weeks and you will see a HUGE difference in style and tone. Have you figured it out yet? It's called humility. You get someone (in this case, two of 'em) that are humble, you are going to be more attentive to what they have to say. There is no "I'm the funniest guy, laugh at all my jokes" nonsense. Both Joey Kramer & Brad Whitford were awesome in this one. They had plenty to say and were extremely grateful for the opportunity to sit on stage and share what they had kicking in their heads.

I had heard all the talk about Aerosmith looking to replace Steven Tyler during the American Idol years. But I had no idea that one of the possible contenders for the job was none other than Sammy Hager. I'm a huuuuuuuuge fan of Sammy, but I gotta say that I am glad it never went there. Not because he wouldn't have done a good job, it's just that he should never have to step into another signers shoes ever again. It was cool that Brad got some time to speak. He along with Tom Hamilton always get the short end of the stick when it comes to doing press and interviews. Love the episode and will definitely watch this one whenever it's on the air as well as online.

I like it when they bring out special guest to sit in on the TMS Top 5 segment. It changes it up a bit and doesn't become as predictable in their choices if it were just the same 3 guys all the time. Off the top of my head this is the third time they've done this. The first was Scott Ian, the second was Slash and now Evan Seinfeld gets thrown into the mix. They actually came up with a good segment for who has the "Best Scream" in a song. I'm blanking right now, but Geoff Tate in a slew of songs would be right up there. Him and Rob Halford. Duh.

The Throwdown wasn't what I would call good. It was pointless in take the two most underrated Aerosmith albums and decided which of those two was the best. Um, if you are going to include the one album that doesn't have the original Aerosmith lineup, you can pretty much guess which album is going to win....especially with who is sitting on the panel.
