Well I mentioned that I've heard them talking about Heart on the show, but for whatever reason I tuned out any "they will be on the show soon" talk. In my head I think I just finished their thought process of the guys giving them props and nothing more than that.

that's fine I wasn't inferring anything....that was just my memory of when during the show they talked about them being guest.

to be honest...as interesting as the girls are...I wouldn't mind them bring on the guitarist or something to have the musical side of things covered too.

that won't happen...and I know Nancy plays guitar....but the other guy is really good.

I was a big fan of Heart as a kid...I remember buying the 45 of this at Tower Records when I bought my first KISS album (which was KISS) same night actually

Episode 6:  Sammy Hagar & Michael Anthony

Best

Episode

Ever!

Special Guest Guitarist: John 5

When I say this is the best episode ever, I mean just that. You will never see a better hour spent from here on out for the rest of TMS life-span. This is what you call a perfect storm. You have Sammy Hagar as Co-Host of TMS, bringing his own flair to the proceedings. You have Michael Anthony as another guest on the panel who is beyond happy to be there which makes it fun for the audience as well as the panel. And you have the un-f*cking-believable performance by the one and only John 5. He was EPIC!! I don't think that word does him justice. Seriously, just....WOW! Awesome stuff. But you know what elevates this episode into rarefied air? You have Sammy having to pick which is the best David Lee Roth era songs in Van Halen for the TMS Top 5. Where else are you ever going to get that? Sammy having to choose and talk about DRL. Trust me, even Oprah Winfrey wouldn't be able to pull that off.

Also cool was Sammy getting to the root of how Mike felt about the whole 'being replaced by Wolfie in Van Halen' fiasco. That's what I wanted to hear about the first time Mike was on TMS. Like I said, the whole hour went by way too fast. This is one that I will watch time after time. This episode gets the super-rare 10 Star rating for massive effect. Nice cameo from Steven Adler.

your only fatal flaw with this one was you never saw the ad which to be honest pushed this episode to 11 or above.

because they had the best teaser/ cliff hanger to whet your appetite for a week...

it just gave you 7 days to ponder what Mike's answer to Sammy's most pointed questions were going to be.....and you knew he was going to answer...

so you know....it's a shame you didn't get to have your imagination and ALL the 'what if's' that teaser provided going all week in your head...was actually better than his answers because you could think..."well what if he said this, or is he going to be very pc...or you know let it fly"

but yeah great episode...I just saw the new one...so that's more in my head right now...I've only watched this one, one time

loved the top 5...was fun to see Sammy work it out...and Mike is always a bad ass guest

John5 always rocks

:)

I will see if I can find the teaser. I'm sure it's up some where.

too late now.

it was a great teaser...but

at this point you already know the conversation...so it was like you got the "big question" and answer back to back within seconds...

no big deal....just saying it was an awesome week the way they set up that ad, best c*ck tease ever at a question everyone was dying to know.

having Sammy present it....made it even better.

How about that John 5? Eh? Eh? Watching both Sammy and Mikey going gaga over him was awesome.

Episode 7: Steve Harris

Special Guest Guitarist: John 5

Pretty good episode with Steve Harris from Iron Maiden stopping by. Watching him talk, it dawned on me how some guest are there because they love their fans and the music they play, while other guest come on specifically as a  c o c k  swinging opportunity to brag about how "awesome" they are and just get some face time on the air. With Steve it was the former. Very down to Earth and very cool listening to him talk. John 5 as he always does, just ROCKED the house. He even has a guitar that Ace would probably want for himself. Just awesome playing and showmanship on John's part.

The only negative I have with this episode is Marilyn Manson. If the TMS gang is in fact going to start added more guest spots for the Top 5 segment, at least go with guest that aren't drunk or on something. Watching Manson more often than not, embarrassing.  Speaking of the TMS Top 5....

Episode 8: Heart & Lita Ford

Special Guest Guitarist: Doug Aldrich

Good God, this episode was frickin' awesome. I've been on a big Heart kick the last few weeks, so this episode was the cherry on top for me today. I'm such a huge fan of both Heart and Lita Ford, who I consider to be the pioneer's of Female Rock and Metal. The only person missing from the panel that I hold right up there with them is Joan Jett. Man, if only she was on it, this episode would have been beyond epic. Still an awesome hour spent watching the three of them talk. I was giddy. Why the hell am I acting like such a little school boy? Anyway, just really cool to have those 3 icons talking among each other. Very, very cool.

Doug Aldrich was the guitarist and I can only imagine how petrified he must have been playing in front of them. I would have dropped a brick, puked and then run off stage. As good as Doug was, I was suddenly going through John 5 withdrawal. Nothing against Doug, but it would have been awesome if Howard Leese was the special guest guitarist, even though he has no association with Heart anymore. I thought it was kinda odd that it was Lita that mentioned Howard and not Ann or Nancy.

Eddie, Don and Jim dropped a pretty big bomb about Vivian Campbell reuniting with the surviving members of Ronnie James Dio's first 3 albums and taking it out on the road. No secret that Dio and Viv had a big falling out. So, I'm not sure how I feel about this new Tour idea. To kick it up a notch, Vivian will be coming on TMS (Season 12) to tell his side of the story regarding the rift between him and Dio. I'm definitely looking forward to that episode.

Don gets a 'fake-out' with the GNR Reunion news. You punk!!!!!

I got bored and turned off the Heart Lita Ford episode.  I recorded it again today to try and get through it...but yeah I don't know why.....it just felt like a filler episode to me...and I mean I am just saying my opinion so you liking it is totally cool and giving it 5 stars,,,,...but rarely do I ever switch a TMS off...and I did for that one.

will give it another shot.

the Steve Harris one was ok...nothing too special...he's always been the brains beyond Maiden but he's a snooze-fest as an interview even when he's got something interesting to say.

Manson needs to clean up his act....you could see John5 was uncomfortable with him there.....I don't think there's any love lost between the two guys and I think John knows Manson could give  a **** about him now....and John  is probably better off being with Rob Zombie anyway......he's more looks than a real crazy guy....it's just dress up for him now at this point......which I think goes for J5 too.

manson is crazy and an alcoholic....so there's probably a lot of drama around him

I'd give the Steve Harris one a 3 stars....and Heart Lita Ford 2.

:)

I thought I was the only one that picked up on the fact that John was refusing to get down off the stage and greet Manson. The guy is a tool and a train wreck. I just don't like the fucker and now every time he comes on TMS, it's an automatic 1 star deduction. The longer he is on, the less stars the episode will get.

I agree manson sucked.

was funny watched that other episode again...still didn't like it...but that Guns N Roses thing was really lame.

I thought they had some sort of interesting thing to say.
you could do that lame **** every week.

"Metallica is breaking up......"

"nope"

and on to the next thing

was totally pointless/

They went for the cheap grab because basically the entire episode Don was making it out like, as you said, some MASSIVE breaking news. F*ck, I was  p*ssed. But I was also scratching my head because the show is pre-taped months in advanced and it was weird that I hadn't heard anything in that time VH1 Classic was sitting on the episodes. But there was this little thing pulling at me where I thought that GNR was purposely shooting down reunion rumors till TMS officially announced it.

Metallica is breaking up? Bummer. I knew that Napster would be their downfall.
