The Beatles (Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) 1967
Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band at #1
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is unquestionably one of the greatest albums of all time. There's something to be said when
Rolling Stone Magazine picked it as #1 for it's
500 Greatest Albums Of All Time list. I have probably listened to this more than any other
Beatles album. But with my current
Beatles listening party marathon in progress, I'm curious to see how this will still rank since I haven't listened to the bulk of their entire catalog in one sitting in a long time. Should be interesting to see how it plays out for me here as I'm quite fond of the
White Album and
Abbey Road. It could come down to a 3 way tie when it comes time for me to vote what I consider the best
Beatles Album Of All Time. I have at times chosen the other two over
Peppers before. So...stay tuned. Oh, who am I kidding? We ALL know that Rolling Stone dropped the ball on this one. Everyone knows that the
Abbey Road belongs in the #1 slot, with
Peppers coming in at #2. Just sayin'.
As for the album itself, it has THE greatest
Beatles song ever....
A Day In The Life. EPIC. Never fails. Other stand out songs are
With a Little Help from My Friends, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, She's Leaving Home and
Within You Without You. This album is more than just the songs though. It was the technical advancement with recording techniques that elevated this one to a whole new level. The entire album is a wonderous marvel.
Album cover ftw! Iconic anyone?
