The Beatles (Abbey Road) 1969

Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Abbey Road
at #14

Abbey-fuucking-Road. ABBEY-FUUCKING-ROAD!!! ABBEY-FUUUUCKING-ROAD!!!!!!!

This is one amazing piece of work. This is where it all came together (pun not intended). Everything that had been hinted at on the last few albums reaches an apex here. Now, a lot of people like to throw out descriptive words such as "tight", "well-structured", etc...in describing Abbey Road. Well there's a reason for that. It simply is the tightest album there is. There isn't one clunker anywhere to be found here. Another thing that I really dig about Abbey Road is how a majority of songs segue right into the next, which does give the album a coehsive feel in that it all sounds like one big song. A true "album" in every sense of the word.

Another thing, a lot of people think that Let It Be was the final recording of The Beatles. Yes, it's true that Let It Be was the final product that was released to the public. But Abbey Road was in fact the last thing they recorded together as a band before breaking up.

Fave Songs: Every-fuuucking-one-of-them!!!!!!

But I gotta point out what I think are the Creme de la Creme songs here. Come Together, Something, Oh! Darling, I Want You, Here Comes The Sun, Because, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, Golden Slumbers, Carry The Weight and The End. Carry The Weight gets the MVP here. Duh!!

George Harrison really got to shine here.

I have been playing this all day and will definitely keep playing it till I drift off to sleep tonight.  Album cover ftw!! It's one of, if not the most iconic cover of all time. Paul is barefoot! Uh oh! Does that mean he is.....

...naw.

FYI, I totally object to Rolling Stone putting Abbey Road at #14. It belongs in the #1 slot. Can I get a "hell yeah?"
