The Celebrity Rock Memorabilia Thread

For awhile I have been wanting to do a memorabilia thread of things that we have collected over the years that mean something to us on a personal level. I originally got the idea for this thread courtesy of Mac's awesome Concert Ticket Stub Display Case Thread. I think this can be a fun thread for everyone to participate in. Who doesn't want to show off things that they have collected and have a story behind it to tell? Exactly. So, anything and everything is game for inclusion. It can be anything from music related trinkets like guitar picks, albums, posters, toys, movie props, celebrity photos that you gotten, books, magazines, autographs, etc... I hope to see you guys posting things that you have a fondness for and hopefully by posting, it will make the rest of us dig it just as much as you do.

Paul Stanley: Face The Music (Signed Hardcover Edition)

I just picked up my signed copy of Paul Stanley's Face the Music Book today. He was in town this past Friday signing books. Unfortunately, I couldn't go. I called the bookstore today to see if they had any copies left and they did. Got two copies. My buddy Boyinblack bought me a second copy. How cool is that? He rocks. I'll be posting more fun stuff that I have around the house that belongs in this thread. Stay tuned......

I like your signature better!

did you look through and pick them?  Or did they just hand you 2 copies?

They had them all in the back. They wouldn't let anyone back there. I'm thinking........midnight bookstore raid. I need to find a ski mask.  :P

I can do that./

hey this song is going to be done in the next hour....do you want me to drive down and give you a copy of it>?

I know you keep weird hours...so if you are up super late and want to tinker with it you can.

would be easier for me than trying to meet up in the morning because I generally get up and take my kid to school and try and get back to sleep as quickly as possible.

I should be done right about 9 PM

Lydia Criss: Sealed With A Kiss (First Edition Hardcover)

Sealed with a KISS is a book that I've had my eye on for awhile and I was just biding my time, waiting for the perfect deal to come along. Most of First Editions are the opposite extremes of each other. They are either f*cked up beyond all recognition or they are insanely overpriced. I do like the overpriced market for sure as it makes my copy even all the more sweeter!  ;D The price was a seal (steal. Get it? No. Oh well). Anyway, I haven't had the time to actually sit down and read the book, but I have flipped through some of it and the quality is damn impressive and it kind of makes the KISSTORY I BOOK like "weak" by comparison. I posted some interior shots to whet your appetite. Of the pictures that I zeroed in on while flipping through the book, I'd say 95% of the stuff is never before seen by me, which is shocking. I won't be selling this book anytime soon, if at all. It's a keeper for sure. Now I just need to get Lydia and Peter (if he promises not to tear the book in half) to sign it.  ;D

I started reading Paul's book last night....I was pretty tired and only got about 20 pages into it...but I like his tone of writing.

it feels fresh.

I have a few things, but I've sold, I guess the 'treasured' stuff.

Two things off the top of my head is REO Speedwagon was doing an in store Peaches signing, and I brought in my copy of REO (cow skin cover) and all members had signed it. I sold that after 20 years of sitting in a closet.

Same with a tour booklet for Kansas. It was gathering dust cause I was doing nothing with it. Sold it eventually.

Any regrets now? Even a little bit?

Not really. If I was to do anything with them (display them), I would have.

Gene is a marketing genius and will no doubt have a Scratch and Sniff Edition for the  h a r d c o r e  collectors.

he needs to come out with the coffee table book of his photo albums. I would buy that in two seconds. He could put little notes or stories that maybe he remembers and little tour stories to it doesn't have to be totally perverted or like a smut book.

of course the smut part would be nice too!!

Well, it would be interesting, but I've heard that 90% of the chicks in his albums were hideous, gross and complete uggos. And lets not forget that the bulk of it took place in the 70's. That book is gonna need some serious Brazilian wax jobs. Ack!!!!
